He took my pillow, the thick one, and slid it under me. He adjusted it twice, with his hand flat on my back, until I said, “There.”

Mark kissed all the way down my spine. I heard the lube cap click. He opened me slowly, one finger, then two, asking each time how it felt. When he curled his fingers, I pushed back against his hand and swore into the sheets.

The condom wrapper tore open. When he pushed into me, he went a little at a time, his chest along my back, and stopped when he was all the way inside. His heart pounded against my shoulder blade.

“Okay?”

“Yeah, move, please.”

He rocked forward and back, slowly. Every stroke dragged my cock against the sheets. I reached back and pulled him in by the hip.

“Harder.”

He thrust harder, and the headboard banged the wall. We both froze.

From down the hall came a short, offended meow.

Mark laughed against the back of my neck. I started a second later. It made my ass clench around him, and he groaned in the middle of it.

“That’s a complaint,” I said.

“It will be addressed in due time.” He braced one hand on the headboard. “Better?”

I grunted out, “Yeah.”

He kept the thrusts long and steady and the headboard quiet, sliding his free hand under me and wrapping his fingers around my cock.

I came with my face pressed into the mattress. He followed a few strokes later, forehead against my shoulder.

Afterward we lay tangled together with the lamp on.

“I’ll get the washcloth,” I said.

“In a minute.”

When I came back from the bathroom, Mark was sitting up against the headboard.

“I saw your bag on the way in. You packed a change of clothes for coffee,” he said.

I got back into bed. “You walked into the locker room with luggage.”

“I’d come from the airport.”

“You didn’t go home first.”

He considered that. “Neither of us packed for coffee.”

I opened the airline app, and he leaned against my shoulder. We canceled both flights. When the app asked whether I was sure, Mark pressed Yes before I could. Then I texted Anna.

Trier: Trip’s off. Don’t come tonight. Thank you for making it possible.

Anna: Off because it went badly, or—

Trier: Mark’s here.

Anna: Good. I bought donuts for the morning. I’ll eat them myself.
