I hold up my phone.
"I think I know who sent the package."
Tripp closes the refrigerator door.
My pulse is still racing as I walk across the kitchen and shove the phone toward them.
"Hunter finally texted me."
That gets three different reactions at once.
Clint's eyebrows lift, Briggs doesn't say anything, and Tripp mutters.
"About damn time."
I drop into one of the kitchen chairs, and drop my forehead against the tabletop.
"He said Gidge is safe. Whatever was going on is handled. Apparently, he's been too busy dealing with club shit to answer his phone for the last month."
My irritation must show because Tripp winces.
"Yikes."
"Exactly."
I point at my phone. "Then Peter texted me that.”
Clint is staring at my phone with a look of pure hatred, Tripp looks ready to put his fist through a wall, and Briggs reaches for the phone and reads the messages himself.
"I thought I saw him at the last rodeo," I confess.
Three heads turn toward me.
"I wasn't sure." I twist my fingers together. "There was this guy standing near the arena. For a second, I thought it was Peter. Then I looked again, and he was gone."
I thought I was imagining things, but now I'm not so sure.
"Why didn't you tell us?" Clint asks gently.
I shrug. "Because I thought I was being crazy."
Briggs sets my phone down on the table.
"Well, the good news is, we're pretty sure who we're looking at now."
Tripp blinks. "Good news?"
Briggs shrugs.
"Before today, we had no idea who was taking the pictures. Now, we've got a pretty good idea."
I stare at him. "You're weirdly calm about this."
"Because there's nothing we can do about it tonight." His eyes meet mine. "We'll deal with it tomorrow. Tonight, we're eating dinner and watching a movie."
Clint closes his laptop.
"That actually sounds amazing."
