“My lease.”

My heart kicked. No. I didn’t want to feel anything. I didn’t want relief or excitement, and I didn’t want the tiny voice in my head immediately whispering— He did it.

I opened the folder anyway and it was a lease for an apartment with his name, a move-in date, and his signature.

I closed the folder. “Does she know?”

“Yes.”

“Your family?”

“Yes.”

“Everyone?”

“Everyone who matters.”

I hated how quickly relieved I felt.

“What happened?”

“Exactly what I told you would eventually happen. She’s still struggling,” he said. “But she’s going to therapy. My mom’s checking on her. My sister too.”

“And the divorce?”

“We agreed not to rush the legal part right now.”

My stomach tightened.

“I know, Blair.”

I folded my arms. “You know what?”

“How that sounds.”

“Then why say it?”

“Because I’m not lying to you anymore.”

That word anymore pissed me off so I just stared at him.

“The marriage is over, Blair.”

My eyes dropped to the lease and suddenly every warning I’d given myself had an answer.

He’s married.

Separated.

They live together.

Not anymore.

Ravenna doesn’t know.

She knows.

He isn’t leaving.
