“No.”

“Yes. You wanted a wife at home and me tucked away somewhere waiting.”

“That’s not fair.”

“FAIR?”

I laughed so hard. “Fair would’ve been Ravenna knowing you were fucking someone else.”

His face twisted.

“Fair would’ve been me knowing you were begging that woman to save your marriage while you were in my bed promising me one.”

I stepped closer.

“Fair would’ve been letting me decide whether I wanted to abort my baby knowing the fucking truth!”

Caleb dropped onto the couch and his head went into his hands.

I stared at him. “Yeah.”

My voice broke. “Let’s talk about that.”

He didn’t move.

“I told her everything.”

His head snapped up. “What?”

I almost smiled. “I told Ravenna about everything, even the pregnancy.”

His face drained. “You did what?”

His tone sounded like I had betrayed him. Something inside me exploded.

“WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU SO SURPRISED ABOUT?”

He stood. “You told her?”

“Yes, I did!”

“Why would you—”

“WHY WOULDN’T I?”

My chest heaved. “She asked questions. I answered them.”

He paced away from me.

“Fuck.”

“Excuse me?”

He put both hands over his head. “Fuck.”

I stared. “Are you mad at me?”

“No.”
