His eyes widened. “So?”
“We rebuild.”
He blinked but I meant it.
“You lose money? Fine.” I shrugged through tears. “We make more.”
“Blair.”
“You lose a business? We build another.”
“Baby—”
“Why are you looking at me like I’m crazy?”
“Because why would we deliberately destroy everything I’ve built if we don’t have to?”
That sentence hurt differently.
I stepped back. “Deliberately destroy?”
“That’s not what I—”
“You keep saying that.”
He closed his eyes. “Fuck.”
I folded my arms over my stomach. “You’re talking about this baby like it’s a lawsuit.”
“No.”
“You are.”
“I’m trying to think beyond today.”
“So am I.”
“Are you?”
I stared at him. “Fuck you.”
“I’m not trying to hurt you.”
“You’re doing an amazing job accidentally.”
He sat back down. “I went to see my Pastor.”
I rolled my eyes so hard. “Of course you did.”
“Blair.”
“What did your pastor say? Thou shalt not impregnate your mistress?”
His face showed that he was annoyed. “Don’t call yourself that.”
“What the fuck am I, Caleb?”
I wiped my face. “Go ahead.”
