Blair.
Don’t.
I took one step down, then another. I walked down the stairs very slow and quietly while listening.
“…you didn’t tell me you were seeing someone.”
I stopped and Nash said something too low for me to hear.
The woman laughed and said, “Clearly you’re not hiding her. Her purse is downstairs.”
My heart started pounding. I looked toward the front door from where I stood. I walked down the remaining stairs and Nash looked up first.
He was standing in the kitchen holding a coffee mug. “Morning.”
The woman turned to look at me and she was also very pretty.
I smiled. “Morning.”
The woman looked at me. Then at Nash. Then back at me.
Her smile widened. “Oh.”
I hated that fucking word.
Nash set his mug down. “Blair, this is my sister, Nesha.”
Nesha held out her hand. “Nice to finally meet you.”
Finally?
I shook it. “You too.”
I looked at Nash and he looked like he was fighting for his fucking life.
Nesha looked between us. “Did I miss something?”
“No,” I said.
Nash said, “She thought—”
“Nash.”
The motherfucker laughed, and when she caught on to what he was trying to say, she laughed too.
I closed my eyes. “Fuck both of y’all.”
Nesha laughed harder. “I literally just met you.”
“I forgot, I’m sorry.”
“I like her,” she told Nash.
I walked toward my purse.
“Where are you going?”
“Home.”
