“Unbelievable,” Blue remarked, shaking his head.

“I used to be a bus driver; I can drive one,” a man declared, stepping forward.

“I can hotwire them, come on. Town people, this way,” Birdie stated.

Hatton frowned after her.

“She’d be a shit mechanic if she couldn’t,” I said, and his frown cleared.

“Damn right she would be. We’re taking the second bus?”

“Unless you wanna ride with them?” I challenged, and Hatton got his ass on board.

We heard a cough, a choke, and then an engine roar. Moments later, the bus driver smashed through the fence and drove away.

“Nice seeing ya, bye!” I called sarcastically. “We should have left them behind.”

“Hey, water,” Cyber said, throwing bottles at us.

“Where’d you get that from?” I demanded.

“Vending machine over there. I’ve got munchies too.”

“God, I needed a drink,” Dagger moaned, and Cassidy’s eyes focused on her.

Hatton shook his head as Birdie crouched down to hotwire the second bus. “I’m gonna get fired for this.”

“Eh, we kidnapped you. It’s simple.” Stitch grinned.

“I just want to go home. I’m done with this bullshit,” Heart complained as she grabbed a seat. Fortune sat next to her and nodded.

“This won’t be over until we discover who’s behind it. Because right now it feels like we’re in a B-rated movie,” I responded.

“Yeah, I gotta agree,” Belladonna said. “We’re just missing the cameras and production team.”

“Is this one of those reality shows or something?” Twilight questioned.

I paled. If someone were watching this, they’d see us use powers. That was seriously bad news.

Belladonna shook her head. “I can’t sense anyone, Prez.”

“Sure?”

“Yeah. There’s no one close by. Heart, are you getting anything nefarious?” Belladonna turned to Heart.

“No. I’ve got fear, worry, concern, trepidation and tiredness from us, but I can’t pick up anything else.” Heart frowned. “Actually, all I perceive are emotions from us; there are no outside influences at all. I should sense something from residents, yet I can’t.”

“What the hell does that mean?” I demanded.

“Sapphire, there’s no one out there,” Heart whispered, paling.

“Hey, you’re tired, okay? That’s why your power is glitching,” Stitch stated.

Belladonna paled too. “Same for me? I can’t pick up any random thoughts. There’s nobody out there.”

“There has to be,” Hatton urged.

“Dude, I’m not bullshitting you. I can’t connect to anyone,” Belladonna replied.
