“Not so funny now, is it, bitch!” Sapphire yelled from a cage.

Yeah, it was even funnier when I saw Priest tackle Blue, take him down, and escape with Nun. Blue shouted insults as he was caught and locked up. Okay, this was fun.

I was sure it shouldn’t have taken nearly an hour to fix the generators. However, every time we tried, a Harlot ran by screaming and led the monsters to us. As soon as the gate opened, it was a free-for-all. Immediately after the last one crossed the line, the gates slammed shut.

After Sapphire quickly counted heads, we looked around.

“Oh no,” Rose gasped, grabbing Candle, who paled. “Clowns.”

We were in a big top, and where the stalls should be were black walls, and we couldn’t see over them. Once again, the exit was hidden.

“Does this ring a bell with anyone?” I asked.

A series of resounding noes echoed back.

“It’s a maze,” Cassidy called, looking through the only entrance we could see.

“Okay, stay together,” Sapphire ordered and shoved Cassidy through first. I couldn’t help but giggle.

Cassidy looked completely betrayed.

We made three turns when we hit the first problem. A wall came down, separating us.

“Wylde!” Hatton shouted. “Stitch, stop throttling me!”

“Keep moving; I think this’ll keep happening,” I called back.

“Ha, ha, ha, ha,” a mocking laugh echoed.

I backed away from the wall, and a clown emerged. Sapphire took off, shoving Cassidy aside.

“Babe! Wait!” I yelled as Sparrow raced after her. I shook my head as the inevitable happened, and another wall separated us. I heard screams and shouts as walls fell around the maze and more clowns appeared.

Cassidy clutched my hoodie as we continued moving, just the two of us alone now. We kept wandering, taking one wrong turn and backtracking. Clowns popped out of the hidden entrances at us, and Cassidy shrieked his way through.

My cool-as-a-cucumber partner complete lost his shit. Suddenly, the walls dropped, and we all looked at each other from different spots in the maze.

Sailor stood by an exit, holding it open. And then we saw the clowns. Pandemonium broke out as every person scrambled for the exits. Those terrified of clowns didn’t bother running around; they climbed over whatever stood in their way to the amusement of the rest of us. Sailor was almost stampeded as everyone raced through the exit. Cassidy was one of the first.

“I don’t like the look of this,” Hatton mumbled.

We were back outside and facing a cornfield.

“Nope,” I replied as the girls crowded together. Yup. This was going to be trouble.

I cocked my head. What now? I heard a scurrying noise and frowned. What was that? I turned around, trying to spot what was approaching. A high-pitched scream erupted from Stitch, terrifying all of us. Her shriek made Hatton wince as she let rip right by his ear.

“Crawlers.”

What now?

“Crawlers?” Belladonna asked.

“Crawlers!” Stitch shrieked, and I wondered if she could go any higher. A figure appeared in black. It skittled along the ground, and everyone scattered. Oh no. These things were creepy. I watched as one twisted its body halfway around.
