He calmed down enough to talk. “So he told me he met this friend online. My guess? He’s got someone giving him some sexy tasks to perform while he’s here.”

Ethan and I glanced at each other then both burst out laughing at the same time. Tristan joined back in, and we guffawed for longer than was probably appropriate. Soon, my sides started aching.

“Okay, okay.” I waved a hand in the air as I tried to catch my breath. “Jesus, I needed a good laugh.”

Ethan was still snickering beside Tris. “Me, too. That was great. Tris, you really think that’s what’s going on?”

Just then, Cameron emerged from the hallway leading to the bathrooms, opposite the long bar. His eyes scanned the room, and when they landed on us, he crossed the room quickly. It could’ve been my imagination, but I thought he might’ve been walking a little funny. And yes, his face was definitely flushed.

“I’m gonna head out,” he said breathlessly as soon as he’d reached Tristan’s side. I fought to hide my smile, but Tristan’s was bright as he turned to his friend.

“You sure?”

Cameron nodded, shifting his weight. I’d bet anything he was, er, wearing something under those pants. “Yeah. I’m kinda tired.”

Ethan spoke up, his face kind. “Get home safe, okay, Cameron? You want any of us to go with you?”

He shook his head, and Tristan leaned over to give him a quick hug. When Cameron pulled back, Tris simply said, “Let me know when you get home so I won’t worry, okay?”

“Will do.” Then Cameron was out the door almost before I could blink.

Tristan turned back to us, and once we were sure his bestie was gone, all three of us started laughing again, a little more quietly this time.

When we’d recovered, Ethan ordered another beer, and I spoke up once I’d slid it over to him. “Okay, yeah, I think you’re right, Tristan. There was definitely something going on with Cameron. Good for him—it’s been awhile, hasn’t it?”

Tris nodded solemnly. “Yeah. I’m glad he’s getting out there again—he was convinced he was giving up on love after his last bad date.” He winced before smiling sweetly, his affection for his friend obvious. “He’s got so much to offer someone—he deserves it.”

Ethan and I nodded in agreement before the guys took their drinks and headed back to their table, presumably to wrap up and head home.

By closing time, I was tired, my feet were hurting, and I needed a shower, but Tristan had stopped by an hour earlier to say goodbye, so I was feeling good.

But as I locked up and walked home, I mused about how to handle my potentially problematic situation. The two men I’d been lusting over—and more than lusting, if I was being honest—were the same person.

Now what the fuck did I do about it?

I’d wanted Tristan for years, since I’d met him. And because I’d been paying attention all that time, I’d noticed he’d never dated anyone for long. Once, Cameron had even made an offhand comment to me that Tris had been closed off to love for as long as they’d known each other, and my heart hurt for him every time I thought about it. He deserved love more than most.

Our flirting had been intensifying over the past few months, and I had a hunch he was starting to flirt back. Maybe he was interested in me, too. He presented himself as a confident boy, which I liked in a long-term partner. Tris ticked all of my boxes so far.

But was he ready for something more serious? I could only hope.

And Substar? I’d offered to be his Daddy, and he—Tristan—had never given me an answer. I wouldn’t force him to; I didn’t want him to feel coerced in any way.

So I’d give him space. Saying Tris—and subsequently, Substar—was guarded was the understatement of the year. Best case, he’d need time.

As I undressed, turned on the shower in my generously appointed bathroom, and tested the water until it was the perfect temperature, the memories I’d had of both Tristan and Substar over the last few days floated through my mind. And of course, after realizing my two dream men were one and the same, I couldn’t hold back—I worked my dick until I came all over the tiles, Tristan’s gorgeous face and Substar’s beautiful cock front and center in my mind’s eye.

It wasn’t until I was in bed minutes later with a smile on my face that I realized what I really wanted: to pursue Tristan. The fact that he was Substar didn’t matter—in fact, it was a bonus.

If there was a chance that beautiful boy wanted me, I wouldn’t waste it. I’d help him get past his fears like a good Daddy would. I’d show him he could trust me not to break his heart. I’d give him support, care, and eventually love if he’d let me.

I’d make him mine.
