“Now look what you did, you made it even more awkward, ass,” Liam says to Alaric, who is rubbing the back of his head.

“Fuck you,” Alaric retorts immediately.

“Fuck you,” Liam shoots back.

Mr. R rolls his eyes and pinches his nose, and surprises me as he says, “Fuck you both. We do not have time for this again.”

“Again?” Trick asks with his eyebrow raised and trying not to smile, just like the rest of us.

Mr. R shakes his head. “They’re a nightmare. Anyway, everyone, head in. You all have your earpieces. As usual, you guys have a private line with Raid’s team, Alaric, Liam, and me. Liam’s earpiece will be on continuously for obvious reasons. I’ll switch between you guys and the other teams, but you can too if you need to. Everyone will follow your lead. When Hunt gets taken out, everything will be chaos, and there’s a high possibility that his people are going to retaliate. Everyone needs to be prepared for that.”

“I think it’s also wise to note that not everyone who works for Hunt is doing so willingly, so unless it's strictly necessary, try to secure them rather than kill them,” Liam adds.

At this point, he just needs to stop talking because every single thing that comes out of his mouth is shocking me.

“Agreed,” Mr. R says, seemingly not surprised at all, which makes me think that Liam has been saying things like this the whole time that they’ve all been working closely on this case. Which is also weird. Mr. R saves me from my thoughts and continues, “Is everyone good?”

“Yes, everyone knows where they're supposed to be,” Trick confirms as everyone nods in agreement.

“Great. Everyone, sound off when you’re in position to watch Liam. As soon as it’s safe, follow him up to the meeting place. If for whatever reason, Atlas can’t take the shot, whoever has the clearest one needs to, but you need to let everyone know, and Atlas is the one who gives the order for someone else to take it,” Mr. R adds.

“Got it,” Trick replies for everyone. He looks at us all. “Stay safe.”

We nod and then split up.

Luc is with me, and we head to the point where Pete’s looped the cameras that are closest to where we’re lying in wait for Liam and Hunt’s meeting.

Fortunately, we get over the wall and through into the dockyard without too much trouble.

The place is a hive of activity, and it’s pretty clear that there is something big happening this evening. We know there is. It’s further proof that the shipment is definitely coming in today and that our intel was correct and the date hasn't been moved.

We quickly get into position, making sure that we’re well out of the way and up on the top of a stack of shipping containers. There’s another one stacked up here, and it’s created the perfect pocket of shadows that Luc and I can hide in. It’s not the best place to be if we need to get to Liam quickly, and if it were just us here, we would have most likely chosen a place that would be closer and easier to run to defend Liam if need be. However, that place would most likely have been far more dangerous than this place is.

There is no need for us to put ourselves in unnecessary danger. There are enough people who can be there immediately if need be. Plus, Luc can scale down the edge of these containers in seconds if he needs to, and I can get down pretty quickly too.

I know that Zemi and the others are here somewhere, but I can’t see them. I mean, obviously I can’t see them. If I could, then something would be very wrong, and they wouldn’t be doing their jobs properly. Everyone sounds off through the earpieces to say that they’re in position pretty quickly, and now we wait.

The plan was changed slightly to avoid Hunt getting wind that we were here. So instead of lying in wait for around twelve hours like we thought we were going to have to do, since we were going to get here in the morning. We’re only here for around four hours.

Which is a far more manageable amount of time to stay in one place.

We’re covering Liam from this side. We can see where he’s going to be meeting Hunt, and we’re the last people before the meeting spot. Everyone else is spread out down the path that Liam assures us Hunt will have him take to get to where he will meet him.

Although we need to make sure that Liam is in sight at all times. The way he gets to the meeting spot isn’t nearly as important as the meeting spot itself.

Liam has assured us that it’s Hunt’s favorite place to dispatch people because it’s by the water and he dumps the bodies in there.

Which is disturbing.

Extremely disturbing, but it does mean that once Hunt is taken out and we’re disbanding his organization, that we can dredge the water where Liam says that they are, and we can hopefully pin even more on Hunt and get some closure for their families.

As Liam walks past those of us who have been waiting for him and Hunt, they will slowly and cautiously follow them, so that when they get to the meeting spot where Hunt is going to predictably kill Liam, he has the backup to make sure that Hunt doesn’t succeed and so that when Hunt is taken out we can arrive on the scene as quickly as possible to help combat the fallout from Hunt’s men.

We’ve timed it, or rather, Liam has made sure to time it so that his meeting with Hunt is when the shipment is coming in too. Which means we can intercept it, and the people on it.

For now, we simply have to wait and watch.
