“Absolutely,” I say. “That was the plan.”

He sits back and goes to open the door as I turn off the car and start to get out. I hear him snicker.

“What?” I ask, almost afraid of what he’s going to say.

“You didn’t clean the window off yet.”

I lean back into the car and look over to his window. “WE JUST FUCKED” is still messily written on the window, brought to life by the steam that we created with our kisses.

I shake my head and make my way around the car, opening his door and offering my hand. “Come on, little lycan. Let’s go to bed.”

He keeps my hand in his, our fingers entwined as we walk into the apartment. We clamber into bed together, Dare snuggled up so tightly to me I think he would crawl inside of me if he could. I hold him, rubbing my nose in his hair. He smells so good.

A contented sigh leaves his body as he relaxes even further into me, which I didn’t think was possible. “I had so much fun tonight, Lev. Thank you.” He’s silent for a moment as I kiss his head. It feels like he wants to say more, and I’m glad I wait for him to say it. “I haven’t had that for a long time. It brought back so many memories, and yeah, it’s hard. But doing that with you, with us, that felt so right. I’m glad we’re making these new memories together. I love you.”

Can I melt right here?

My heart skips at his words. “You’re more than welcome, baby. I had a lot of fun too. I love this, and I love you.” He tilts his head up for a kiss, and our lips meet. After a few kisses, we snuggle up again and fall soundly to sleep.

Chapter 57

Darian

“Waaakkeee upppppp!”

I feel kisses being peppered along my cheeks and neck. With a groan, I try to roll over, but Lev has his full weight on me, and I’m not able to move.

“It’s time to get up,” he whispers in my ear. "It’s Christmas.”

He kisses me again, bracing his hands on either side of my shoulders and bouncing the mattress.

I groan again, unable to hide the smile creeping onto my lips. “Go awayyyyyyy,” I tell Lev groggily, but he doesn’t let me attempt to fall back to sleep.

Not that I’m fighting very hard.

“Come on,” he says. “It’s time for breakfast.” He starts to roll off of me.

“What time is it?” I whine.

“Nine.”

“Oh cool. I just need two more hours,” I say, and that asshole starts to pull the covers partway down my body. I immediately feel the chill in the air, and I turn over and grab the edge, tugging it back. "No!" I shout, though a smile working its way onto my face.

Lev flops down on me again. "Come on, lycan! Wake up! Pleaseeeeee!" With that, he jumps up again and yanks the covers all the way off in one pull.

Gasping as goosebumps erupt on my exposed back, I kick and thrash and then jump up out of bed with him.

“Okay, okay, I’m up!” I protest, and he laughs and pulls me in for a kiss.

After getting dressed, we go to the kitchen, and Lev hands me a cup of coffee.

“Sooooooo,” I say through a yawn. “What’s so special about Christmas breakfast?”

Lev takes a tentative taste of his coffee. “Red-and-green pancakes.”

I nearly choke on my sip of the hot, delicious nectar of the morning gods. “What?” I laugh out loud.

“I said red-and-green pancakes,” he tells me again, as if I’m the one who is weird.
