My jaw hardens and my nostrils flare. I bounce her once on my still hard cock inside her and say, “I still want you now. Of course I will.”
“I don’t mean physically,” she says in a small voice.
My expression softens and I kiss her. I bring us both into the shower, my back to the water in case it’s not warm enough.
“I—” I pause. I can’t tell her I love her yet, but… “I cherish you, Hazel. So even if you decide you don’t want anything physical anymore, I’ll still want you around. Okay? I can’t imagine this house without you in it.”
She watches me intently and after a moment, she presses her nose against my own, nodding. “Okay.”
I gently pull out of her pussy and set her down on her feet. With a smile, I press another kiss on her lips and grab a washcloth, adding soap to it. “What else are we good at together?” I ask her with a smirk.
“I’ll come up with something,” she says, smiling back, and wrapping her arms around my waist.
CHAPTER TWENTY-FIVE
Hazel
Although I’m sore and tired from the night before, a delicious burn on my thighs from Levi’s scruff, I grab a shower and stop at our favorite taco truck on my way to Rosie.
Her bloodshot eyes are puffy from crying, and I open my arms for a hug as soon as I walk through her door.
“Honey, I’m so sorry,” I say, letting her cry on my shoulder. I’m still having a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that she’s adopted and that her parents kept it a secret her whole life.
“I can’t believe they lied to me,” she says, her words muffled by my shirt.
“Did your brothers open the file?” I ask.
She pulls back and nods. “Yeah. Apparently, I was born in Boston. I was put up for adoption a few weeks later.”
“Shit, Rosie. I’m so sorry you’re going through this,” I say, placing the food down on her small kitchen table. It barely fits two people, but we huddle around it anyway as I pull her favorite tacos out and place them in front of her.
“The worst part is, I’ve always had an inkling, and every time I would ask, they would shrug it off. Shouldn’t I have known?” she asks, tears streaming down her face.
“Maybe they thought they were protecting you in their own way,” I say. When she doesn’t make a move for the food, I unwrap a taco and hand it to her.
She sighs and takes it. We sit in silence while we eat a few bites.
“I’m disappointed in them. And there was nothing in the file that indicates who my biological parents could be. Just a hospital name in Boston.”
“That’s a start. You could call and see if they kept any archives from the year you were born. Maybe they’ll have a name,” I suggest.
Rosie’s eyes light up with interest. “That’s not a bad idea. And I can do this ancestry kit,” she says, pointing to something on the counter. A DNA kit. I nod and look at her again. Her red hair is tangled, and her skin is irritated and splotchy from crying.
“Whatever you want to do next, I’m here for you, babes.” I reach out and squeeze her hand, giving her a small smile.
“Can we just watch a movie and hang out for a bit?” She sniffles.
I chuckle and stand, taking the bag of popcorn and cans of soda out of my backpack. “How about instead of a movie, I tell you all about the tournament?”
Rosie’s puffy eyes narrow on me. “I like golf, but I don’t like golf that much. I’d much rather hear about your massive crush on Levi that you’re still trying to hide.”
Biting my lip, I take the seat across from her once more. “We had sex last night,” I squeal, covering my mouth with both hands.
Rosie’s jaw hangs open as she stares at me with wide eyes. “Seriously? Last I heard about it, you were trying to avoid him at all costs.”
“That didn't work.”
“No shit.” She guffaws. “Tell me everything.”
