My system is paranoid, and I have no idea why. If I was rational, I wouldn’t think Lawson would leave me while I was so vulnerable.

“We’ve still got some combination of ice and snow coming down, so I think the hospital is out for the moment unless we call EMS,” he says calmly. “I’m shocked we haven’t lost power. Don’t stress—if it goes out, the generator will kick on. I’m just saying, I think it would be more dangerous to venture out with the weather like it is than it would be to manage your symptoms here. All you have to do is tell me what will make you feel better.”

“I don’t know!” I snap. “That’s the problem. It’s like my brain is frying inside my skull. Even my eyes ache. Everything is hazy, and… Oh, God. The cramps are coming back.”

What starts as almost a muscle cramp or spasm in my lower abdomen intensifies until every cell in my body is pulsing with pain.

“Okay, I’m taking you for a cool shower,” Lawson says, scooping me up. “Then I’ll get you settled in the nest, wake up Luka and Bryant, and find the thermometer.”

That sounds like hell, but my brain isn’t working well enough to know what I need to ask for.

“Arms up,” Lawson says as he holds me with his hands on my hips.

Without that support, I’m not sure I would be vertical.

I don’t bother just raising my arms, instead grabbing the bottom of the long-sleeve pajama top and ripping it off over my head.

I need to cool off, so I have no idea why it took me so long to think of peeling off my clothing.

“I didn’t realize you didn’t have a bra on,” he says, his gaze darting away.

“I have underwear on.” I grunt, pushing my pants to the floor. I try to kick out of them, but everything aches, and I end up falling against his chest. “Lawson.” His name comes out as a whine that’s intended to force alphas to do an omega’s bidding. Unfortunately, I still can’t think straight.

I’m annoyed, and I want to be left alone.

Maybe.

If he had left me in bed, I might have been able to sleep for a few more hours without noticing the pain, or I might have been rolling around alone in agony.

Every breath floods my senses with raspberry and lemon.

It’s everywhere, and I hate it. It’s way too potent, making me feel like I might gag.

I’d much rather smell Lawson’s citrus and pine scent, but even having my face buried in his chest, I can’t smell him over myself.

“Okay, keep leaning into me. I’m going to get out of my pants and get us into the shower.” He pushes down his sweats, but he has something on underneath—either boxers or boxer briefs.

My entire body pulsing with heat, I whimper as goose bumps erupt on my skin. They’re certainly not from being cold. I think it might be a physical reaction to the pain.

“Up you go,” Lawson says, wrapping his forearm under my backside and lifting me with ease.

I slide up his front, and his skin feels refreshing against mine. He’s always so warm in comparison to me, but right now, it’s cool to the touch. I loop my arm around his neck and bury my nose in his throat. Half my face ends up in his beard, and I still don’t pull away.

I need to scent him.

To have him completely surrounding me.

My thoughts turn naughtier as he opens the shower door and walks inside.

Okay, maybe I don’t need a hospital.

I just need Lawson’s knot locked inside me.

His cum.

Bryant’s and Luka’s too.
