At the top is a fluffy blanket in light gray. Bringing it to my face, I test the material. It’s nice—not the type of fuzzy that’s a sensory nightmare.
“Wow, it’s great. I love it.” I drop it onto the bin lid and go back to peeking around. The next thing I spot is a catalog for The Divine Omega.
Bryant snatches it before I can pick it up, saying, “You can browse once you’re done.”
“That’s probably not a bad plan,” I admit, picking up something heavy that’s wrapped in fabric. I pull the piece of tape, carefully unrolling the material. It’s a three-wick candle, and I bring it to my nose, scenting it. “Wow, that actually smells like me.”
“It’s supposed to help regulate your system in an unfamiliar space,” Lawson says from behind me.
“That’s incredible.” I just realized that I’m completely blocking his view. When Luka takes the candle and fabric, I crawl around to the side of the box to ensure all three of them have an equal view. The next thing I pick up is a clear pouch. Inside are bottles of scent-reducing soap, scent-enhancing soap, and a completely scent-free body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. “This is amazing, you guys. I don’t know if I’ll ever use the scent-enhancing soap, but I’ll definitely get good use out of the other four. Sometimes my scent gets so thick that it almost makes me gag.”
“That can be used by your alphas,” Bryant says, winking. “It’ll help make our pheromones easier to pick out, which should soothe your system.”
“Wow, that’s crazy,” I say, putting everything back into the leak-proof bag. “I had no idea they even made such a thing.”
“They make it in a cologne version as well.” Luka takes the plastic bag from me.
I go back to digging in the bin. The next thing I encounter is a first-aid kit, but I don’t get to examine it.
“That’s pretty boring, but necessary,” Bryant says, taking it from my hand. “This should have a booklet with helpful heat facts and an in-depth instruction guide for alphas. The kit also includes an omega thermometer, fever reducers, ice packs, and a few other things I can’t seem to remember.”
“Blackout eye mask with cooling gel and earplugs for when you’re overly sensitive to light and sounds,” Lawson chimes in.
“This is such an amazing gift,” I whisper as my eyes ache. “I appreciate it so much, but I really don’t need such lavish gifts.”
“You deserve it,” Luka says, digging in the bin. A spaghetti-strap pajama dress hangs from his pointer fingers as he raises his arms. “Now this is sexy.”
“It is.” I take it, rubbing it against my cheek.
It feels expensive.
The rest of the box is filled with a white-noise machine, fuzzy socks, two incredibly soft pillowcases, and a set of matching pajamas in the same material. It has everything—versions of the T-shirt in long and short sleeves, as well as shorts and pants.
“Jeez,” I say, grinning. “You guys know how to spoil an omega.”
“We won’t make you dig through this one.” Bryant pats the other bin. “It’s a bedding sampler pack from The Divine Omega. It has a variety of blankets, sheets, and pillowcases for you to test out. That way, we can order whatever you like best and outfit the nest with that style.”
“If we had a store close by, we would have brought you in to test them out in person,” Lawson says. “Since the closest one is an hour away, we thought this would be easier.”
“I can’t thank you enough,” I say, tucking my hair behind my ear. “And there’s more.” I gesture to the other boxes the guys set aside to get to the bins. “I’m going to owe you three so many Christmas gifts.”
“Nah,” Luka says. “Courting gifts are our chance to show you that we can provide for you. They’re meant to be over-the-top and lavish.”
“Having you here is the perfect gift,” Lawson chimes in.
“It really will be.” Bryant grins, and those little creases around his eyes appear. “Now, I’m going to go start dinner so we can woo you with as fancy of a courting date as we’re going to get in the middle of a snowstorm.”
Chapter Twenty-Two
Lawson
Dinner goes well, and I try not to obsess about how little Abby eats. Even reminding myself that she’s a lot smaller than me doesn’t seem to help.
“I promise, I’m stuffed,” she says, leaning her head against my shoulder as she smiles up at me. Her cheeks are pink, but that could be from the beer she had with dinner. “I mean, I could probably find room for dessert…”
I grimace.
We don’t keep many sweets in the house, and I’m just realizing we should have stocked up in preparation for having an omega around.
