Through his laughter, he speaks for the first time.
“You’ll never find her. If that debu has her, she’s already being used by him. Probably crying for you three.” Begins to mumble something in Japanese, but I catch the word “baka,” which I’ve watched enough anime to know means “idiot.”
I know he’s goading us. I know he’d doing his best to get us to end him quickly, and even still, I snap at the thought of some monster touching Sin. At the thought that this piece of shit is laughing at the situation. And without so much as a first thought, my hand moves of its own volition. Pocket, hunting blade, plunge into his balls.
He’s not laughing now.
No, it’s more a delightful, blood-curdling scream from the chair we’ve bound him to.
“He may bleed out.” Ilya’s tone is almost bored.
“We have time to make his suffering worse before that happens,” I assure.
Ilya grunts before plowing his metal-braced knuckles into Miki’s jaw. Like a well-oiled machine, I grab the hammer from my belt and slam it down, full strength, onto his hand, breaking the arm of the chair.
“Bollocks,” I tsk. “Didn’t want to break it that fast.”
“It’s all right.” Ilya sends a punch to Miki’s gut.
“What do you think is taking them so long?” I send the hammer into his knee, immune to the sounds of his suffering now. Not even reveling in it any longer.
“Disorganized paperwork. It was a mess down there.” Another punch to the side of his face.
There’s not much of a reaction this time, and I follow the flowing blood from his crotch to the pool building on the floor. “Oops.”
Ilya shakes his head in disapproval. “I told you.”
“Apologies. I mean, he isn’t dead yet. Just… numb.”
Ilya snorts a second before Cade joins us, the male Omega nowhere in sight. He raises a brow at Miki, seemingly impressed, then looks between us. “I have a couple of addresses, but I was able to hack into Mama’s GPS. She’s at one of the houses right now. We need to move.”
I pull my Glock and fire a single round into Miki’s forehead. “We should take out the rubbish so the Omegas don’t have to see it.”
“No time. Toss him back in that closet,” Cade commands. “I’m going to call Ji to let him know his betrayer is dead.”
Chapter Twenty-Four
Sin
My mind is hazy. Fogged. Stringing together thoughts is… thoughts and… string…
My eyes crack open.
I don’t recognize where I am, but my vision is severely blurred. As my wits return, I recognize a distinct scent in the air, a strange chemical.
Chemical.
That brings everything rushing back to me. The cloth on my nose and mouth, this same smell on that cloth, a huge meaty hand wrapped around my face. My face that now actually burns.
To my surprise, I’m not bound or tied up in any way. As my vision slowly begins to come back, I see that I’m in a small room, sitting on a disgusting mattress on the floor. Everything is dirty and dingy.
This is not the club.
As my heart races, I stand and begin to walk around the room and investigating the walls and the corners. There’s a door and I put my hand on the knob and twist fully expecting it to be locked, and it is. The fear begins to claw at my throat.
Who took me? Where the fuck am I? That large hand had to be a man.
I feel weak and disoriented still, and as dizziness sets in, I sit back on the dirty mattress. It’s not a beat later that the door swings open and reveals Mama, holding a small pistol in her hand, aimed straight at me, holding a bottle of water in her other hand. She tosses the bottle at me under hand, and keeps the gun trained on my body.
