"Why the fuck does she even go to the gym?" Wade asks, shaking his head like it's a mystery. "She's pregnant, and she has an entire damn ranch to run around on. Makes no sense."
"She likes to gossip," Blaze says with a shrug, still holding my gaze.
"She hear anything interesting?" I ask, trying to sound casual.
I know I failed as soon as Blaze smacks the table, cackling. "I knew it!" he crows. "You're fucking dying to know if they talked about you, aren't you?"
"No." Hell yes, I am. But Batman himself couldn't beat that truth out of me right now.
"Huh. Then I guess I won't tell you that she asked about you," Blaze says, shoving half a biscuit in his mouth.
"I hope you choke on that, you bastard."
Wade laughs softly.
Blaze just chews, swallows, then grins. "Won't even mention that my wife said she was wearing a sports bra."
Ah, goddammit.
My little songbird was at the gym in a sports bra?
"It was purple."
"You want to die?" I growl, narrowing my eyes at Blaze. "Because this is how you die, motherfucker."
He just throws his head back, laughing. "I fucking knew you were into her, you big bastard! Your head is about to explode."
"Is not."
"It is," Wade mutters.
I flip them both off, my chair scraping back from the table. My dick is hard enough to pound fucking nails right now. I'm not telling either of these bastards that, though. Matter of fact, I'm not telling them shit.
My business is my business, and Callie is my business.
"Use lotion!" Blaze calls through laughter.
I pause, glancing over my shoulder at him. "Your wife told me she met someone the other day."
His laughter dies immediately, his eyes narrowing. "What the fuck? Who did she meet?"
"It's a secret." I flip him off again and grab my tray. "Guess you'll never know."
"Bishop!" he shouts after me. "Who did Calamity meet? Bishop!"
I just smirk, ignoring him. Serves the prick right for harassing me. Now, he can spend all day losing his goddamn mind, too.
Callie was asking about me at the gym yesterday.
Callie in a sports bra.
Fucking hell. Why isn't it Monday yet?
"You need to start locking this door, songbird."
"Jesus Christ!" Callie cries, jumping a foot in the air. She wheels around with a microphone in hand, staring at me like I'm a ghost.
I lean up against the wall, grinning at her. Fuck, she's cute. She's barefoot again today, dressed in a tiny pair of shorts and a pale blue T-shirt, her hair piled up on top of her head. If she's wearing makeup, I can't tell. It's not like she needs it anyway. The woman is stunning.
