I’m a dominant man. I crave control.
But when the woman you’ve loved your entire life tells you to crawl to her, you get on your goddamn knees and crawl to her.
My knees connect with the soft rug a moment before my hands do. All thoughts of walking away are gone as I move between her thighs, never allowing my eyes to drop.
At this point I think I would crawl through broken glass to get to her, especially when she’s spread out like a feast.
“Now what, Duchess?” I ask. “Tell me exactly what you want me to do.”
She bites down on her bottom lip as Kingston whispers something in her ear. I never thought I would be okay with someone else calling the shots in the bedroom, let alone someone I’ve spent most of my life convinced I hate, but he’s not doing it in an alpha way. He’s not lording his demands over us, and as irritating as it is, he’s really fucking good at guiding Chloe when she needs it.
Shaking her head at whatever he said, she brushes her fingers through my hair in a motion that seems entirely too gentle compared to everything I’ve just watched.
Her eyes hold mine for long seconds, and I can’t help but sink into them the way I did when I was younger. When I was naive enough to believe I could somehow have the girl my brother loved, despite being engaged before I said my first word.
“Are you okay with this?” she asks softly, quiet enough that probably only King can hear.
I huff out a laugh, because of course she’s worried about me. She’s surrounded by four men that would devour her whole given half the chance, and she’s checking to make sure I’m comfortable.
It would have been so easy for her to lose this part of herself, to succumb to the bitterness after everything that was taken from her, but she’s the same sweet girl I loved all those years ago.
Reaching up, I cup her cheek in my palm and her gaze softens at the contact. “Duchess, have you ever known me to be pressured into anything, ever?”
She shakes her head and nibbles at her bottom lip.
“I want to be here, Chloe,” I assure her. “Now tell me what you want me to do, and I’ll be more than happy to oblige.”
A small smirk tips up the corners of her lips as mischief replaces uncertainty.
Fuck, I love this woman. How did I ever think I’d be able to deprive myself of her for the rest of my life?
“How about you show me how much you want to be here with something other than words.”
CHAPTER THIRTY-NINE
CHLOE
NOW
Idon’t know where this confident version of myself has come from, but watching Damon’s eyes flare with heat as he trails kisses down my bare chest makes me think I’m doing something right.
His lips are gentle as they drag lower, taking a small detour to press a soft kiss to the bandage.
I’m not stupid. I know he harbors a lot of guilt about that night and everything that came after it, but I need him to let go of it. I’m alive, and if the fact I’m about to get railed by four men isn’t a sign of that, I don’t know what is.
He kisses over my mound, and my breath catches in my throat with anticipation, only for him to drag his lips over the inside of my thigh instead.
The sensitive flesh sends a need to my core, and I bite down on my lip to stop myself from begging for him to give me what I need.
Kingston’s lips are just as gentle as he presses soft kisses over my shoulder and throat, making my head dizzy with lust.
Being between two men that have spent close to two decades hating one another is surreal. How is it possible that I’m the thing that brought them together? That I’m the reason that they’re putting their differences aside for my benefit?
“You seem distracted, Siren,” Ryker says from his place on the couch. “Is Damon not doing a good enough job?”
He growls and bites down on the inside of my thigh, dragging a scream from my throat. The pleasure and pain hit me at once, and my core pulses.
Jesus fucking Christ.
