“I read something really concerning on Reddit.”
Dani keeps eating her salad. Across the table, Veronica unwraps the second half of her sandwich without looking notably alarmed either, which is insulting considering I specifically chose the word concerning.
“I’m serious.”
“You read things on the internet after midnight all the time,” Dani says. “That’s generally how you end up concerned.”
It was not technically after midnight. It was eleven forty-seven, and I had been in bed doing completely reasonable research after The Third Fairy told me to go to sleep.
