Callie pulled me into the bathroom, and I chuckled when she shut the door.
“We have guests,” I told her. I lifted her onto the bathroom counter, and parted her legs, my hands going to her hips.
“They won’t even know we’re gone.” She laughed, and I captured her lips with mine, kissing her deeply. Her hands disappeared beneath my shirt, and my stomach tightened.
“I doubt it,” I breathed. “It’s my housewarming.”
“Too bad. I like this much better.”
I smiled, and continued kissing Callie, her lips warm and soft. This past week was the best I’d had in a while. We were settled in the house, and I started sending Daniel to a child psychologist at the hospital to help with his nightmares. I was told he was suffering from PTSD, which isn’t uncommon after the ordeal he went through, but I didn’t want it to be something that would affect the kind of person he became. I wanted him to know that we were not what happened to us. So far, it seemed to be working. He was happier, which meant I was too.
Callie rubbed at my chest, and my fingers dug into her jean-clad ass. Her breathing quickened, and I leaned into her until her head was against the mirror.
“I think I should stay the night.” She shivered, and I pulled at her hair so that her neck was arched. This was the most intense things had gotten between us, and for once I wasn’t holding back. I wanted her, to feel close to her. And to be more than what we were. With everything going on, I wanted to take that step.
“I agree.” I nipped at her neck, and smiled against her skin when it pebbled. Her legs wrapped around my waist, and she rubbed against me. We hadn’t had sex yet, not that I was in any kind of hurry -
Hang on, I thought. I frowned, and looked down between me and Callie. Somethings wrong. My mind registered it before my body did. Callie stopped, and pulled back to look at me.
“What’s wrong?” Her cheeks were flushed, her hair in slight disarray, and any man in his right mind would be sporting wood at the sight.
Except…
I wasn’t.
My dick wasn’t hard. In fact, it didn’t stir at all.
“Vaughan?”
“Huh?”
Callie’s expression was quizzical, her brows dipped in an almost imperceptible furrow.
“I asked you what’s wrong.”
“I, uh, I’m not…” Shit, talk about awkward. When my gaze fell back down to my lifeless crotch, she caught on.
“Oh! Whoops…” She bit her lip, and I saw how she tried to keep from laughing.
“It’s not funny.”
“It isn’t.” She shook her head, trying and failing to look serious. “But I’m a little offended.” Her hand dipped between us, and she unzipped my shorts. I watched her hand disappear beneath my boxer briefs, and couldn’t stop my sharp intake when her fingers wrapped around my shaft.
“I think we can fix this,” she whispered, scooting closer to me. I grunted, because, well, she had her hand around my dick.
But it was still limp.
Even when she started moving her hand.
Even when she rubbed her thumb over my tip.
Nothing.
I hunched forward, gripping her wrist to stop her.
“Fuck.”
“It’s okay,” said Callie. She removed her hand, and then zipped my pants back up. “Maybe we should wait until no one is here.”
