“Are you still fucking her?”

“Fucking who?”

I crossed my arms over my chest and stared a hole in Law’s eyes. He was charming but I knew his ass like I knew myself. He was acting dumb but he knew who I was talking about without mentioning her name. I hated old bitches.

“Don’t play with me. You know who, Law.”

“Are we a couple?” He pointed between me and himself.

“We are what the hell I say we are. You can fuck a million bitches, but they will never be me.”

“You right, so why you questioning me? Am I asking you are you still sleeping around while carrying my damn child? Nah! But what I will tell your lil’ ass is, you better get all that shit out before that stomach grow ‘cause the first time I hear about a nigga squishing my baby, I’m on your ass.”

The laugh that escaped my mouth caught Law off guard. It was funny because I knew just how serious he was, but for a nigga that wanted to stay single, why was he worried?

“It ain’t funny either. Think I’m playing if you want to and see.”

“Law, it is funny, and you know it.”

He went to the kitchen and put the bags down while I went to throw some clothes on. I didn’t want to tempt him in anyway and sex would only confuse what we had going on.

“I see you went and put something on. You got scared, huh?”

“Of what? You ain’t got shit that I ain’t already had. I ain’t never been scared to take shit from you and we both know that.”

“Oh, yea? Come sit on it now.”

“Boy please! You probably just pulled a condom off from fucking your old bitch. I don’t want to fuck behind her old ass.”

“Damn,” Law laughed. “She ain’t old, but she really got you pressed. I thought those days were over with.”

I looked at him and rolled my eyes. He ain’t seen shit yet because as soon as I saw her, we had some shit to talk about. She could feel how she wanted to feel because as long as I was carrying this baby, Law was a part of me and I wanted her to respect her boundaries.

It was well after nine when Law decided to get up and leave. He had been here all day and now I didn’t want him to go. I appreciated that he let down three jobs today to stay and massage my back and let me get some sleep. He even fell asleep with me. From the looks of it you would think we didn’t miss a beat but there was still an awkwardness about us. It was something we hadn’t discussed yet but we both wanted to.

“Come lock the door behind me.” He patted my thigh so I could remove my legs from over him.

“You must be leaving to go lay up with your senior citizen,” I joked.

“You worried?”

“Nope, not at all. I appreciate you chilling with me today but I understand it’s her turn now.”

“Summer, quit with all that damn pettiness. If you want a nigga to stay, then say that. I thought you were a little more mature than that.”

“I’m good.” I threw my legs on the floor and got up to walk to the door. I wasn’t going to beg him for the obvious. Law knew damn well I wanted him to stay. When he didn’t move, I stared at him.

“I’m not leaving. You got a whole attitude because I’m about to go home and chill.”

“I don’t have an attitude Law. You can go.”

“If I stay, we fucking. You can feel how you want to feel but dammit I need to see why I got to stay in this little ass shit you live in.”

“I don’t want to complicate things between us by adding sex to the mix. We did so good today without arguing. Don’t you think sex is going to only make me go crazy and you too?”

“I know how to control myself; it’s you that act a damn fool when a girl speaks.”

“It’s respect Law. Them girls be petty as hell when they do it too, knowing I’m right there.”
