A ball gag.

I can’t breathe.

Handcuffs.

A tear slips down my cheek. I need Jensen now more than ever. I need my daddy to rescue me, and when he does, I’ll hold on to him forever.

“We’re going to have so much fun with you.”

Bile gathers in my throat.

How the hell am I going to survive this? Again.

CHAPTER FORTY-THREE

JENSEN

Miko follows me inside, and I push past him to head into the kitchen.

The moment my gaze lands on a pool of blood, my heart sinks to my feet and sickness forces my eyes closed. I snap my hand out to grasp onto the counter when my legs threaten to buckle, and a strangled gasp leaves me.

Oh, fuck, no.

Oh, Jesus. No.

“It’s Clint,” Miko declares from beside me, so I open my eyes and step closer. My blood pumps through me like a tsunami, causing my thoughts to float thickly through my mind like cotton wool.

“Jesus, I thought—” I swallow hard. “What the hell is happening?” I mumble to myself.

Clint has a knife lodged in his neck, and it’s clear he’s been dead for some time.

I fumble grabbing my phone from my pants pocket and quickly dial Immie’s number, but it goes straight to voicemail. Miko eyes me, and I shake my head.

“I’ll check the cameras and the location on her phone. Go upstairs and check her room for signs of a struggle or anything untoward.” He tilts his head toward the door, and I race through the foyer and straight up the stairs into Immie’s bedroom. There’s no sign of her. Nothing looks out of place, so I head into the bathroom, and the bathroom is trashed.

What the hell happened in here?

Pregnancy tests are everywhere. I pick a box up off the floor, noting ovulation tests. What the hell?

A throat clears, and I dart my attention to Miko fixing me with his dark eyes.

“I think we need to talk,” he says and nods down at the box in my hand.

What the hell is happening?

AMANDA

THREE HOURS AGO …

I watch the little bitch pull away from the house. My house. From the moment Jensen dumped her on me, I’ve wanted her gone.

Jensen gave me a taste of the high life, and I wanted more of it. Much more, and if agreeing to sign a piece of paper to keep this life meant having her pathetic ass living with me, then so be it, but I never had any intentions of being a mother figure to her. Hell no.

Why the hell should I bring up another bitch’s brat? A beautiful one at that. A constant reminder of his previous love. With how obscure he is when I ask to talk about her, it’s clear to any idiot how much she meant to him, so while Imogen is around, there will always be the opportunity for his first love to return and profess her feelings toward him. I can’t afford the risk of losing him and everything he provides for me.

Sex with Jensen is intense and something I’ve always enjoyed, but I can get that anywhere, especially with the access I have to his many clubs.

It’s not just the black card, the lifestyle, or the well-being his wife receives, but having his surname attached to me secures my stature in the society I love.
