Sickness rolls inside me.

She’s been in love with me since she was a teenager. Have I missed this? Or did I choose to ignore it?

“I’m not taking advantage of her. I love her.”

“As a wife? Because if you think Immie deserves anything less, then you’re wrong.”

“She’s mine. She’s mine. I don’t give a fuck how old she is. She’s mine. She’s my everything.”

Something settles in Zane’s eyes. Satisfaction, maybe? Respect, even. And if I’m not mistaken, Miko’s shoulders relax ever so slightly too.

We pull into the underground parking lot, and Zane turns to face me. “Let’s go get our girls back.”

Let’s punish their asses, more like. Literally.

CHAPTER THIRTY-FOUR

IMMIE

I glance around the bar area with a mixture of curiosity and nervousness. While consensual sex is all very new to me, being around people with Doms and chains isn’t, and a weird part of me is intrigued. This feels like a safe space. Since we stepped foot in here, I haven’t felt pressured. Although, I’m sure it’s helped having my friends here beside me.

“I wonder if we’ll see anyone we know?” Fern whispers into my ear, and my gaze latches onto a woman who’s being paraded through the crowd. She wears cat ears and has a collar around her neck with a chain attached to it, and her eyes are cast down.

“Immie? Are you okay?” Fern strokes my arm. “Maybe this wasn’t such a good idea.” She searches my face.

“Damn fucking right, it isn’t a good idea!” a loud voice booms, making us jump. “Where the hell is your brother?” Zane asks as he strides toward us with pure fury emanating from him. The veins on his forehead protrude, his hands are balled into fists, and his eyes are wild as he scans over Fern. “Miko, take Fern to the car.”

Fern’s shoulders sag, and I can’t help feeling sorry for her. Since being expelled from boarding school, Zane controls her every move, something I know she hates.

“Come on, Little Ballerina.” Miko grins. “Let’s get you home and tucked into bed like a good girl.” He throws his arm over her shoulders, and she pushes him away, causing him to laugh loudly. The sound is deranged, sinister, and frankly, terrifying. If I didn’t know him, he would be someone I wouldn’t want around my friend.

“I’m going to find my son. I’ll speak to you later,” Zane says to someone behind me, and when I turn, I find Jensen staring down at me. The intensity in his eyes has my pulse skittering and my heart hammering. I fidget from side to side under his dark stare, his scrutiny stripping me bare.

Has he been there all this time?

His pupils are blown wide, and he slowly drags his tongue over his bottom lip. It seems seductive, but I’m not sure he realizes it.

The air crackles between us, and my heart pounds with each second that ticks by.

“I’m going to punish you so bad, Little Nightmare,” he rasps, causing a promising chill to sweep over me.

“This is bullshit!” Fen declares and stomps past us, breaking the moment. I’ve never wanted to kick someone in the balls as much as I do right now.

I spin to look for Marlie and Zane, but don’t see them anywhere. Maybe they left in a different direction. Odd.

“Where do you think Marlie and Zane got to?” I ask Jensen.

He stares down at me, the intensity behind his gaze so strong it’s like an elastic band waiting to snap. His lip lifts at the side. “He’s probably teaching her a lesson.”

I rear back. “What lesson?”

He snaps his hand out and tucks a strand of hair behind my ear before gliding the backs of his fingers down my cheek. “Punishing her for tormenting him.” There’s a surreal calmness in his tone that makes my heart skip a beat.

That can’t be right. Is he really talking about Marlie and Zane, or is he referring to him and me?

“Let’s get you home, Little Nightmare. Daddy wants to teach you a lesson.”

Bring it on.
