Julian ignored him and kept his attention on me.

“We can finish the build. I know everything about that project. You don’t have to lose no money over this,” he begged.

I laughed. This nigga was sitting next to his dead brother trying to sell me construction services. He had figured out threatening us wasn’t going to work, so now he wanted to be useful.

“You really think I give a fuck about those buildings right now?”

“I’m saying we can move forward. Business as usual,” he lied.

“Nah, I know how you operate. You would do anything for your brother. I know about Tiana Jenkins. Your brother’s mistress who was recently found in Cascade Springs strangled to death. I know about Kela Whitfield. Also another one of your brother’s mistresses. Her body was never found. I know what you’re capable of,” I announced.

He glanced at Quest before looking back at me.

“Nah… You got it all wrong. I wouldn’t hurt Melody or Keenan,” he replied.

“I don’t believe you.” I laughed.

“Look, me and my brother ain’t did shit to you.”

“Your brother is the reason Melody lost her whole family and you were complicit. Where were you when he set up his baby girl to get killed? Huh?”

“That’s not true. That was Melody being neglectful.”

“Wrong. Your brother admitted it before we killed him,” I responded.

He looked shocked as if he really didn’t know. It didn’t matter. He couldn’t be trusted.

After I dropped Melody and Keenan off at my house with security, I headed here. I couldn’t allow her to get close to this. She didn’t want me to hurt Julian but she didn’t understand who he was. Melody had enough on her mind without having to wonder whether Julian was going to show up wherever she slept.

“Let me go,” he pleaded. “You won’t hear from me again.”

“Nah.” I shrugged.

“I swear to God.”

“For as long as you live, you gon’ be trying to get revenge on her. Maybe you’ll wait until you think I ain’t paying attention. Maybe you’ll go through her son. I can’t have that.”

“I won’t.”

His eyes followed my hand when I pulled out the knife. He started begging louder, offering money he probably didn’t have access to. I had heard everything I needed to hear.

I slit his throat before he could make another promise. Once he stopped moving, I hauled him out of the chair and dumped his body beside Roman’s.

Quest looked down at the two of them. “Who’s gonna clean up this mess?”

Prime let out a chuckle. “What do you wanna do, Justice?”

“Put them on ice. We can stash them at Priest’s funeral home. I’ll figure out what to do with them. But for now I’m heading home,” I told my brothers.

“Speaking of Priest, the fight is Saturday,” Prime reminded me. “You ready for all that?”

“Big Will says the arena is damn near sold out. Deacon better be ready, because I got too much money on that boy,” I replied.

“Go be with your people,” Quest said. “We got it.”

I nodded and made my way outside.

By the time I got into the truck, my phone was ringing. Neasy’s name filled the screen, and I answered before starting the engine.
