“Are we getting Keenan?”
“Yeah, baby. We’re getting your son.”
I pressed my hand over my mouth before rushing toward the closet. I had been waiting to hear that for so long that I almost didn’t know what to do first.
“I’m getting dressed now.”
“Good. I’ll be there shortly.”
By the time Justice knocked, I had my purse over my shoulder and my shoes on. I was beyond ready to go.
“Did your people see anything? Is Keenan hurt?”
“They ain’t seen him come outside. We’ll check on him when we get there. My money is on Keenan being okay. Julian ain’t really like Roman from what I can tell.”
I wanted him to promise my son was okay, but he couldn’t do that. I followed him out of the suite with my anxiety on one hundred.
I barely noticed the drive to Bethesda. Justice kept one hand on my thigh while I stared through the windshield, thinking about everything that could go wrong before I got my son out of that house.
Aria sat back and did nothing when Roman hurt him. I had no reason to believe she would stop Julian from doing the same thing. I regretted getting off of that bus without Keenan, even though I didn’t have a place to hide him.
When we pulled up, I reached for the door before Justice put the truck in park.
“Hold on,” he said. “Let me get out with you.”
I waited while he came around, then hurried toward the house with him beside me. My sister took her time answering the bell. When the door finally opened, she looked at me before her eyes moved to Justice.
“What the hell is this?”
“I’m here for Keenan.”
“Why is Justice Banks at my house with you?”
“Where’s my son, Aria?” I ignored her question.
She tried to pull the door closer to her body, but Justice put his hand against it.
“We need to see the boy,” he said.
“You can’t just come over here demanding things. Roman isn’t even home.”
“I know he’s not home. Move.”
“Melody, I told you not to contact me again.”
“I’m not here to see you.”
Keenan appeared behind her, looking from me to Justice.
“Mr. Banks?”
“What’s up, bro?”
I pushed past Aria before she could stop me and reached for my son.
“Come here, baby.”
He hugged me so tightly that I had to catch my balance. I held the back of his head, kissing his cheek while I tried to get a look at his face.
