“That I’d think about it.”

He rubbed his beard while I waited for him to say something else. I already knew he was considering it. So was I. We needed the money, and I had no intention of letting my anger talk me out of getting it.

“I think we should take it,” I said.

“Did he bring any paperwork?”

“No. We’d have to work all that out.”

“Then make him put it in writing. I ain’t getting excited over some shit he said while he was feeling guilty.”

“I know that, Kyle.”

I sat across from him, still irritated that Justice could offer that much money without looking concerned. We had lost sleep over bills while he continued making more money than he knew what to do with.

He probably thought he was being generous. But it really couldn’t make up for the damage that he’d already caused.

“What about Will?” I asked.

“What about him?”

“Are we still going through with the plan?”

“Fuck yeah. Justice saying sorry don’t change what he did. I still want that casino fucked up. I need him to pay.”

“Good. So do I,” I replied.

Kyle leaned forward, resting his arms on the table.

“He can pay to get us back in business. That don’t mean I owe him shit afterward.”

“You won’t hear an argument from me.” I waved my hand.

I wanted those restaurants. I wanted our employees back at work and my brother back in Alexandria doing something he was proud of. Justice could pay every fucking bill that came through the door.

But he had taken more than our income, and watching him lose money wasn’t going to satisfy me anymore.

“He knew how much I loved his girls. But now that I know what Storie did…” I paused. My heart was pounding and my chest was tight.

I had told Kyle the girls were off-limits. I remembered how offended I had been when he brought them up. Dream hadn’t done anything to me, and I knew that even as I sat there thinking about her.

She would still get older with her father paying for every opportunity. Storie would get her doctors and whatever else Justice decided she needed. He could spend a fortune trying to fix her while my grandmother’s name stayed attached to videos of roaches.

“You thinking about going after Storie?” Kyle asked.

“I’m thinking about what he’d have left if we only went after the casino.”

He watched me without answering.

Justice came in here wanting to rebuild my legacy. I wanted him to lose the children he planned to leave his legacy to. He could open another business whenever he felt like it. I wanted both of those girls dead so he would have to walk past their empty bedrooms every night. I wanted him to know what the loss of a legacy felt like. And Storie needed to pay for lying on me, especially with how dedicated I was to her.

“Dream, too?” Kyle asked.

I picked up my phone and opened Justice’s contact.

“Both of them. But first, I’m taking his offer.”

I sent him a message asking when we could discuss the restaurants. As for the girls, we needed to plan so that Justice would never know it was us. I wouldn’t rest until I had my full revenge.
