I tighten my arms around him. “Nope. I’m comfortable right where I am.”

He presses his lips to my temple. “We need to clean up.”

I reluctantly lift my head. His hair is a mess, his lips are swollen from kissing me, and red marks streak across his chest where my hands gripped him. I trace my fingers over one of them, remembering the sounds I pulled from him while I was on top. Seeing the evidence of what I did to him gives me ridiculous satisfaction.

Duncan catches my hand and brings it to his mouth, pressing a kiss into my palm. “Fine, stay here.”

I watch his naked ass all the way to the bathroom before dropping my face into the pillows with a smile. He comes back a few minutes later with a warm washcloth, and when I reach for it, he catches my wrist and moves my hand aside. I don’t argue. He cleans the mess from my stomach first, then gently cleans me before tossing the cloth toward the hamper. When he climbs back into bed, I move toward him at the same time his arm circles my waist, and a second later I’m tucked against his chest again.

I settle with my head on his chest and throw one leg over his. His fingers move through my hair, slowly working out the tangles he probably put there in the first place, and I close my eyes to the steady beat of his heart beneath my ear.

I can’t remember the last time I stayed in bed with someone after sex without wanting my own space. Even when I was seeing someone regularly, I’d eventually get restless and want to leave. Lying here wrapped around Duncan, I’m perfectly content.

His fingers stop moving through my hair. “You’re thinking too hard.”

I open my eyes. “How do you know?”

“Because you went quiet.”

Apparently, he already knows me way too fucking well. I lift my head and rest my chin against his chest. “I was thinking about how much I like this. Being here with you.”

His hand slides around to the back of my neck, and his expression softens as he pulls me closer and presses a kiss to my forehead. “I like having you here.”

Fuck, I like hearing that too.

I lower my head to his chest and tighten my arm around his waist. Exhaustion is catching up with me now, leaving my body warm and heavy against his. Duncan keeps one hand at the back of my neck while the other moves slowly over my back, and when he presses a kiss to the top of my head, I’m already halfway asleep.

Warmth is the first thing I notice when I wake up. The second is that I can barely fucking move. Duncan is wrapped around me from behind, one arm across my waist with his hand spread over my stomach. My back is pressed against his chest, and sometime while we were asleep, our legs tangled together beneath the sheets. I lie there listening to his slow breathing, ridiculously pleased by the fact that Duncan Murphy is cuddling me in his sleep.

I carefully turn in his arms until I’m facing him. He doesn’t wake, and without the suit, the controlled expression, or those vivid green eyes watching everything around him, he looks different. His hair is still a mess from earlier, and one side of his face is pressed into the pillow.

I run my fingers lightly over his chest. His arm tightens around my waist on instinct, pulling me closer until I’m tucked against him again. I smile and slide my arm around his waist, perfectly happy to stay here until he wakes up.

I don’t know how long I lie there before his breathing changes. His arm tightens around me, and a few seconds later, those bright green eyes slowly open.

He looks at me, still half asleep, and I smile. “Hi.”

“Hi, mo sholas.” His voice is deep and rough from sleep.

I slide my hand over his chest and shoulder before resting it against the side of his neck. “Did you sleep okay?”

“Aye.” His thumb strokes my lower back. “You?”

I nod, and Duncan leans in to kiss me. His mouth is warm and lazy against mine, nothing like the hungry kisses from earlier. I slide closer, enjoying the unfamiliar sight of him rumpled and sleepy as much as I enjoy his mouth. When he finally pulls back, his nose brushes mine.

“What time is it?” I reach behind me for my phone on the nightstand and squint at the screen. “Holy shit. We slept for almost two hours.”

“I think we needed it.”

I set the phone back down and look at him. The light coming through the windows has changed, and neither of us has moved to get out of bed.

His hand slides up my back to the base of my neck. Since this whole thing with Alina started, we have nowhere to be, nothing we need to figure out, and no one waiting for us. I curl closer and rest my head against his chest, more than willing to spend the rest of the night exactly like this.

My stomach has other plans. A loud growl breaks the quiet between us, and Duncan looks down at me.

“I’m hungry.” I lift my head and glance toward the windows. “We missed dinner.” My stomach growls again, louder this time, and I push myself up with a groan. “Feed me, Daddy.”

Duncan reaches for me when I start to climb out of bed, but I slip out of his reach before he can drag me back under the covers. My legs are a little unsteady when my feet hit the floor, and when I look over my shoulder, he’s stretched out across the bed completely naked, one arm behind his head as he watches me.
