He didn’t tell Novak either then?
That he was leaving?

They were scrambling to get a press release out when the trade was announced
I’m sorry
//Just promise whenever you change teams you’ll tell us first [DELETED]

turkeytalk (November 20, 2023): It’s everyone’s favorite time of year. That’s right, it’s the Albuquerque Turkeys’ annual charity Turkey Trot. Register for the race and don’t forget to bid on which member of the team you’d most like to see wear the inflatable turkey suit this year.
↪ gobblegoals: there a costume contest this year? gotta know if I need to head to the craft store and bulk buy feathers
↪ turkeytalk: Yes! To be judged by the winning (losing?) player in the turkey suit
abqturkeysnhl (November 21, 2023): The votes are in - this year’s Turkey Trot Turkey is... Dylan Everett! This marks Everett’s fifth consecutive year as our holiday turkey and ninth overall. This year’s runners for the team include: Novak, Baptiste, Duffy, Gibbs, Knox, and Walsh.
turkeytalk (November 21, 2023): The official fan bids and votes are done, but the unofficial one begins: which member of the Turkeys finishes the race first? Remember that all money raised goes to the local food bank and winners will receive a Turkeys’ Turkey Trot shirt signed by the winning player.
↪ gobblegoals: my money is on Walsh. He’s the youngest so theoretically in the best running shape. Hungry for a victory over the veterans. Too inexperienced to know that it will involve signing a thousand shirts on Thanksgiving.
abqturkeysnhl (November 22, 2023): Today marked the 25th Annual Turkeys’ Turkey Trot Thanks to fans for your support, we’ve raised over $118,000 to help develop youth hockey in Albuquerque.
↪ abqturkeysnhl: Our Turkey of the Race was none other than Luc-Henri Baptiste LHB was the fastest player with a time of 20:04
[Picture of Baptiste with a rubber turkey trophy next to Everett wearing the inflatable turkey suit, only his face visible. Both are smiling.]
↪ luchenrisourit: #blessed
Henri enjoyed his mini-holiday hiatus after the turkey trot by vegging out on his sofa, watching Star Wars, and playing Tetris on his phone. It felt so good to just relax and do nothing...and to let his legs recover from the 5k. Henri was in good shape, but skating and treadmills weren’t the same as actual running outdoors with the chilly November air settling in his lungs with every breath. But he’d been buoyed by the atmosphere of the crowds and their encouragement as he pulled ahead of the other Turkeys.
And it was nice to actually win something.
He’d paid for it Thanksgiving morning when his body didn’t want to move. Luckily, he had the whole day to himself. No plans meant he was allowed to take his time before getting up.
