“We’re not a thing.”

“Keep tellin’ yourself that, cupcake.” He squeezes my ass, and I slap him on the shoulder.

“Strikin’ me only gets me hard, baby girl.”

He just baby-girled me. I am so seriously fucked.

“I need a shower. Your sweat is all over me.”

“No point,” he tells me. “You’re only gonna get worked up all over again.”

“Huh. Well, you know what? Now is probably time for me to leave—”

“Don’t even think about it.” His voice is rough, demanding, and a dark part of me thrives on it. I don’t usually do possessive men, but I know Sin. As much as I may not like to admit it, I know he’s a good guy. I know he has no plans to unlock that door, and that makes me want him even more.

“Sure you’re not already obsessed with me?”

He tucks my hair behind my ears—the gesture shouldn’t feel this personal. It’s Sin. Then again, he did just fuck me, and he’s still inside me. So there’s that. “Maybe I am.”

Holy moly.

Did I just catch feelings for my brother’s best friend?

No.

No.

No!

“And no matter what you say,” he asserts. “You can’t deny how perfect we are together.”

“Getting all sentimental on me?”

“Just statin’ the truth.”

What if he’s right? What if we are perfect together? Reap wouldn’t care. Hell, he’d welcome Sin like he was his own brother. But then I remember who he is. This isn’t my clubhouse. This isn’t my town.

“I—I don’t know,” I stammer. “About this. Us.”

“You don’t have to give up anything, but you’d be my ol’ lady.”

“You’re crazy, do you know that?”

A wide grin spreads across his face. “Never said otherwise.”

Ain’t that the truth.

CHAPTER 6

SIN

Sapphire is still in my arms, and it feels right. Her ice-blonde hair fans across my chest like it’s always been there. Like Sapphire has always been there.

I draw circles on her back as we lie together. Honestly? I thought she’d grab her shit and run, but she stayed. The craziest part? I wanted her to.

“Heard from my mom today,” I say out of nowhere. “Can you believe that?”

She sits up slightly. “No shit?”
