Luna met me around the front of the truck.
She followed me inside.
My camera bag was still on the dining room table where I left it before we went out, along with the packing paper I didn’t use and two extra prints I caught before closing the box.
Luna dropped her bag onto one of the chairs.
“You left a mess.”
“I was working.”
“Is that what we’re calling it?”
“It is when it makes me money.”
I set the box beside the table and started gathering the paper.
Luna reached for one of the prints.
“Is this theirs too?”
I looked over.
“Extra.”
She picked it up.
It was the same picture Mrs. Harris set aside first.
“Why’d you print another one?”
“I always do a couple extras.”
“In case something happens?”
“Sometimes. Or if I like one.”
Her eyes moved from the picture to me.
“So you really did like this one.”
“I told you I did.”
“I know.”
She looked at it again before setting it carefully on the table.
“They looked happy.”
“They were.”
I looked back.
“What?”
“Nothing.”
She smiled and reached for another piece of packing paper.
