“Why are you staring at your computer like that?”

I didn’t answer Naomi.

I was still somewhere around We’d love to feature Chapter & Charm in our fall issue when she came around the counter and leaned over my shoulder.

“Luna?”

“Hold on.”

“You’ve been holding on.”

“Naomi.”

“All right.”

She backed up, but not far.

I finished the email again.

The first time I thought I was reading too fast. The second time I was looking for the part where they asked me to pay for something.

There wasn’t one.

The local magazine was putting together a feature on independent businesses downtown. Somebody who came to one of our Open Mic Nights had mentioned Chapter & Charm to the writer, which somehow led to her looking us up, which led to the email sitting in front of me now.

They wanted to interview me, photograph the store, and talk about how it started, what we’d built there, and the community that had grown around it.

I sat back.

“Well?” Naomi asked.

I looked at her.

“Chapter & Charm is going to be featured in the fall issue.”

Her mouth fell open.

“What?”

I turned the laptop toward her.

She grabbed it before I could tell her not to.

“No way.”

“That’s what it says.”

“Girl.”

“I know.”

“Luna.”

“I know.”

She read faster than I did, then looked up at me.

“This is big.”
