I narrowed my eyes. “Then what happens before ten?”
His mouth curved. “You have breakfast with me.”
I looked ahead again, mostly because the smile threatening to show up on my face was none of his business.
“Are you asking me on a date?”
“I thought I was pretty clear.”
“You said breakfast.”
“With me.”
“That doesn’t automatically make it a date.”
“It does when I’m asking you to go on one.”
I glanced at him again. “Oh.”
“Yeah. Oh.”
I laughed. “You’re very sure of yourself.”
“I’m sure I want to take you to breakfast.”
That quieted me for a second.
“Okay.”
“Okay?”
“I’ll have breakfast with you.”
“Before ten.”
“Don’t push it.”
He laughed. “What time should I pick you up?”
“Pick me up?”
“That’s my plan.”
“Why can’t I meet you there?”
“You could.”
“But?”
“I asked you on a date. Let me pick you up.”
I studied him for a second before shaking my head. “Fine.”
“Fine?”
“Don’t make me change my mind.”
His smile widened. “Address?”
