“Get Crow somewhere that can patch him up without asking too many questions,” he ordered.

Crow shook his head. “I'm not leaving.”

“You're bleeding through your bandage,” Monster pointed out.

“I've had worse,” he lied.

Monster stared at him. “Congratulations, but you still need to be looked at.”

Crow looked at Angel. “I need to—”

“You need stitches,” Angel said.

“Lina—” She gave him a look, and Crow corrected himself. “Angel.”

“Go,” she ordered.

“You sure?” he asked.

“No.” It was an honest answer.

Crow nodded. “I'll come back.”

Angel crossed her arms over her chest. “Through the front door next time.”

Crow almost smiled. “That’s a fair request.” Bones helped him toward another vehicle.

Bishop stayed near the SUV, waiting, and Angel noticed. Jackhammer could feel her tension. “You don't have to talk to him today,” he said.

She looked up at him. “I know.”

“Tomorrow either,” Ghost said.

“Or ever,” Hammer added.

“I know, Hammer.” Jackhammer stopped. She'd called him Hammer without teasing and without deliberately using Jackhammer to piss him off. Angel realized it too, and a small smile touched her lips. “Don't make a big deal out of it.”

“Wasn't going to,” he lied. He was totally going to make a huge deal about it.

“You're smiling,” she said.

“No, I'm not,” Hammer insisted.

Ghost walked past. “He is.”

“Fuck off,” Hammer grumbled.

A commotion started behind them. Razor was pulled from the second SUV. His expression was pure hatred. Monster pointed toward the clubhouse. “Put him in the basement.”

Razor laughed. “You have a basement?”

Monster smiled. “You're gonna love it.”

Angel watched two brothers drag Razor away as Jackhammer studied her. “You okay?”

“I don't know,” she admitted.

“Acceptable answer,” Hammer said.
