“Then who did?” Angel asked.

“I don't know,” he said, but Ghost wasn’t sure that he believed him.

“Why was she a problem?” she asked.

“She knew too much,” Crow said.

“About you?” she asked.

“About everybody,” Crow answered.

“Who is everybody?” she asked. Razor looked at Monster, Ghost, and then Hammer.

“Nomad Knights weren't operating alone,” he said.

Ghost frowned. “Who were they working with?”

Razor smiled. “Now you're asking the right questions.”

Monster stepped closer. “Answer it.”

“Why?” Razor asked.

Monster shrugged. “Because I'm running out of patience, and Ghost is running out of people telling him not to shoot you.”

Razor looked at Ghost, and he smiled. “Prez ain't lying.”

Razor sighed. “We were working with cops, judges, business owners, and other clubs.”

Angel's eyes widened. “The ledger has all of them on it?”

“If Elena's records are as complete as I was told,” Crow said.

Ghost caught the wording. “As you were told?”

Razor realized his mistake, but it was too late. “You never saw it,” Ghost said. “You've been hunting this fucking thing for seven years now, and you've never actually seen it,” Ghost guessed.

Razor's jaw tightened, and Jackhammer smiled. “Well, shit.”

Monster looked amused. “That explains a lot.”

Angel stared at Razor. “You killed my father over something you didn't even know existed?”

“I knew it existed,” he spat.

“How?” she asked. Razor didn't answer her, and Angel took another step toward him. “How did you know?”

Crow suddenly spoke. “Viper told me.” Everyone turned, and Crow struggled upright. Drifter tried to push him back down.

“Stay the fuck still,” Drifter ordered.

Crow ignored him. “Viper told Razor.”

Angel frowned. “Why would Dad do that?”

“He didn't know what Razor was yet.”

Razor smiled. “Your father trusted me once.”
