“Tonight,” Ghost said.

“No,” Monster breathed. Angel smiled smugly, and Ghost glared at her. Monster continued. “We don't know enough yet.”

“Waiting gives Razor time,” Ghost warned.

“Rushing gets people killed,” Monster countered.

“So does sitting on our asses,” Ghost said.

Monster stepped into Ghost's space. “I'm still your Prez.” Ghost clenched his jaw because he hated being told no—especially when Angel's life was involved.

Monster looked at Angel. “Your father's house secure?”

“As far as I know,” she said. “I haven’t been there in years.”

“Anyone living there?” Monster asked.

“Not that I know of,” she said.

“Any alarms?” he asked.

“Probably hasn't worked in years. There are a few cameras, though,” she said.

Monster nodded. “We go tomorrow.”

Ghost blinked at him, and Angel did too. “We?” she asked.

Monster smiled. “You didn't think I was letting these two idiots ride into another MC's territory alone, did you?”

Hammer grinned, and Ghost liked the plan already. “How many guys are you sending with us?” he asked.

“A small group. Too many bikes announce that we're coming,” Monster said.

“Vehicles might be quieter,” Ghost said.

“Yeah, they might work better for this operation,” Monster agreed.

Angel shook her head. “This is insane.”

Monster pointed toward the decorations downstairs. “You walked into a clubhouse where the president has spent six hundred dollars on Halloween decorations.”

“Six hundred?” Ghost asked.

Monster ignored him. “You knew what kind of people you were dealing with.” Angel laughed, and all Ghost could do was watch her again, because that fucking laugh made him a little crazy.

Monster headed for the door. “We leave at eight.”

“In the morning?” Hammer asked.

“Did you actually think I’d let you sleep in, asshole?” Monster asked. “Don’t you fucking oversleep either.”

“Wouldn’t dream of it,” Hammer grumbled.

Monster disappeared, and Ghost waited until the door closed, and then he looked at Angel. “Looks like you're going home.”

“That's not my home anymore,” she insisted. Something about the way she said it made his chest ache. Ghost understood that better than she realized. Home wasn't always where you came from. Sometimes it was where you ended up. He glanced at Hammer and then at Angel. Maybe home wasn't a place at all. Maybe it was people. That was a dangerous thought because he wasn't ready for that one.

Angel sighed. “If we're really doing this, there's something else you should know.”
