“Stop lying to us,” Hammer said.

“I'm not lying,” she insisted.

“You're leaving shit out,” he assessed.

“That's different,” she said. Ghost looked at Jackhammer, and Jackhammer shook his head. They could pull the rest out of her later. First, they needed to get her somewhere safe.

Monster apparently agreed. “Get her back here,” he ordered.

Angel shook her head. “No.”

“Yes,” three male voices said at once.

She looked personally offended. “Did all three of you just tell me what to do?”

“Yep,” Monster said. Jackhammer smiled, and Ghost laughed.

Angel threw her hands into the air. “This is ridiculous.”

“Probably,” Jackhammer agreed. “Now, finish packing.”

“I already am packed,” she said, nodding to the duffel bag. He looked at it sitting beside the couch. Right—because she'd been planning to run. That pissed him off all over again.

Jackhammer grabbed the bag. “Good. Saves time.”

Angel reached for it, and he pulled it away. “You have a serious problem with stealing my luggage.”

“I prefer carrying it for you,” he said. Honestly, he was afraid that if she got her hands on it, she’d take off on them.

“You held it over your head so I couldn't reach it,” she reminded.

“Still had it, didn't I?” Hammer asked.

“You're an asshole,” she growled.

“So I've been told,” he said.

Ghost moved back toward the window. “Hate to interrupt this beautiful moment, but the bike's gone.”

Jackhammer's humor disappeared. He crossed the room and noticed that the spot where the bike was parked was now empty. The motorcycle had vanished. “Fuck.”

Angel rushed over. “I didn't hear it start.”

“Neither did I,” Ghost said. Jackhammer studied the street. He saw some cars, a few trees, and a woman walking a little white dog, but nothing else. That bothered him more than seeing the damn bike. Someone had gotten close enough to leave it and then close enough to take it away, without any of them noticing.

“Monster,” Jackhammer said.

“Still here,” Monster said.

“Bike's gone,” Hammer said.

“Get back to the clubhouse, now,” Monster ordered.

“Got it. We're moving,” Hammer said, and disconnected the call.

Angel grabbed her purse. “I'll follow you in my car.”

“No,” Jackhammer growled.
