“So I've heard,” he said.

“Where's Hammer?” she asked.

“Downstairs,” he said.

“Is he wearing his costume?” she asked.

Ghost's mouth tightened. “Yes.”

Angel grinned. “And?”

“I fucking hate him,” Ghost said. That sounded promising. Angel slipped past Ghost, and he caught her around the waist. She squealed when he pulled her backward against his chest.

“Where do you think you're going?” he asked.

“To see Hammer,” she said.

Ghost looked down at her costume, and his eyes darkened. “Not dressed like that.”

Angel smiled up at him. “Do you have a problem with my costume?”

“Several,” he griped. She'd chosen a fallen-angel costume because she couldn't resist. She wore black boots, a short black dress, dark wings, and a crooked halo. She'd even found temporary tattoos that looked like feathers trailing down one thigh. Ghost had stared at that thigh for approximately five straight minutes when she walked out of the bathroom earlier.

“I thought you liked my costume,” she said.

“I do,” he admitted.

“Then what's the problem?” she questioned.

“The rest of the guys are going to like it, too,” he growled.

Angel laughed. “Don’t be jealous.”

“I'm not, but I’m considering murdering half the clubhouse if they look at you,” Ghost said.

“That's jealousy,” she pointed out. She turned in his arms. “Promise me that you’ll behave.”

“No,” he whispered. She kissed him and Ghost immediately pulled her closer. Angel smiled against his mouth. Three weeks ago, she'd barely known how to let anyone touch her heart. Now she knew exactly how Ghost kissed when he was jealous. How Hammer kissed when he was trying to make her laugh. How both men reached for her in their sleep. How Ghost always checked the locks before bed. How Hammer left coffee beside her every morning. How neither man had once asked when she was leaving because they both knew that she wasn’t. She'd unpacked every damn thing. Her clothes filled half the dresser. Her toiletries were taking over the bathroom. Her boots sat beside theirs. And yesterday, she'd caught Monster putting her name on the clubhouse grocery list. Apparently, that was as official as things got around here.

Ghost pulled away. “If you keep kissing me like that, we're not making it downstairs.”

“We're already late,” she said.

“Exactly,” he grumbled.

“Monster will come looking for us,” she said.

Ghost considered it. “He wouldn't.”

A voice shouted from downstairs. “IF YOU THREE ARE FUCKING, STOP! WE'RE DOING THE COSTUME CONTEST!”

Angel burst out laughing at Monster, and Ghost closed his eyes. “I hate this club.”

“No, you don't,” she countered.

“Tonight I do,” he said.

She took his hand. “Come on.” Ghost groaned as she pulled him along.
