“I'm not complimenting him. I'm saying he built distance between him and his men,” Hammer said.
Bishop nodded. “Exactly. Robert Mercer became one of those men.”
“And Razor inherited Mercer's piece of the pie,” Ghost said.
“Yes,” Bishop said.
Angel frowned. “Did Razor know Cole was still above him?”
“I don't know,” Bishop said.
Ghost did. “Yeah.” Everyone looked at him. “Razor was scared in the barn.”
Crow nodded. “He was.”
“He wasn't scared of us,” Ghost said.
Monster looked offended. “He should've been.”
“You know what I mean.” Ghost leaned forward. “He knew Bishop wasn't the top. That's why he kept dodging questions.”
Angel stood. “Then let's ask him.”
Ghost smiled. “Now you're thinking like me.”
“That's terrifying,” Jackhammer said.
Razor looked like shit, and Ghost approved. The Nomad Knights president sat tied to a chair in the basement. His face was bruised, his lip was split, and one eye was swollen shut, but he was still breathing—unfortunately.
Angel walked in first, and Ghost didn't like that. He stayed directly behind her. Jackhammer entered next, and Monster followed. Razor smiled when he saw Angel. “Back again?” She pulled over a chair, sat down, and crossed her legs. Ghost almost smiled because she looked like she was interviewing someone for a job.
“You know Harrison Cole?” she asked. Razor's smile disappeared. There it was, and Angel saw it too. “Good,” she said. “That saves time.”
“I don't know what you're talking about,” Razor insisted.
Ghost drew his gun, and Angel held up a hand. “Not yet.”
Ghost sighed. “You never let me have fun.”
Razor looked between them. “You really think this is funny?”
“No,” Angel said. “I think you spent seven years making me afraid of you.” She leaned forward. “And I'm not anymore.” Razor's jaw tightened. “Cole killed my mother,” she guessed. “And I think that he had your father order it.” Razor looked away. “He had you kill my father,” she continued. “And he had Shadow killed.”
Razor looked back at her. “I killed Shadow.” Angel's face tightened, and Ghost stepped forward. She stopped him with one look. This was her fight, and he hated it, but he'd promised himself he'd learn to respect her boundaries.
“Why did you kill Shadow?” she asked.
“Because Cole ordered it,” Razor admitted.
Angel nodded. “Thank you.”
Razor frowned. “For what?”
“Confirming it,” she said. His face changed, and Ghost understood. Angel wasn't here for a confession because she already knew the truth. She needed something else. “Where is Cole?”
Razor laughed. “You think I'm telling you?”
“Yes,” she breathed.
