“That’s just it, mom, Lexi would not leave me with nothing. She’s my sister, and we love each other. Dad made sure of that. Dad was struggling with dying. He was worried about what would happen to his children, especially Lexi. The thought of her suffering made it more painful for him than the pain of his illness. So, we agreed to rewrite the will, giving her more. Lexi and I promised to trust each other and I get to decide who she marries. And, he was able to die peacefully without worrying about his children. It’s clear to me you didn’t know dad at all, and you clearly didn’t love him because, if you loved him, you wouldn’t hate the daughter he loved very much.” He exhales.

“Bruce is going to hand you over to the police, and you will be going to prison for attempted murder and attempted kidnapping.” He sighs. “Should you plan to challenge the charges, I will let Bruce end you, and I wouldn’t shed a tear.” Her eyes widen in shock. Bet she can’t believe it.

“Nick doesn’t want anything to do with you ever again because you almost ruined our relationship, and I know all the hatred he expressed to Lexi was because you filled his head with garbage and lies. Knowing what he lost because of you, he’s never forgiving you.”

“How long will I be in prison for?” Her voice shakes

“Till you die, mom, or you can choose to die now.” He lifts his wrist to look at his watch. “You have two minutes to make a decision.”

“I’ll take prison,” she blurts out.

“Good for you. I may not look back, but I can assure you Bruce will not suddenly think you have grown a conscience when we all know you will never grow a conscience. His people are going to keep watching you in prison. One attempt from you to attack Lexi means you will be put down like a rabid dog.” She shudders.

“What do you and your father see in them?” she retorts.

Jonah rises.

“Your dark soul can never comprehend their beautiful and gentle soul that’s attractive to most people unlike your soul. I met Eni and believe me, she was a beautiful and kind woman. Dad was always happy when he was with her. Even as a young kid, I never saw an ounce of the joy he shared with Eni when he was with you. That’s what dad and I see or saw, in his case.” Jonah gets up and turns to me.

“You have my permission,” he says and walks out.

As soon as the door closes, I turn to her. I remain seated.

“You made life miserable for my wife. Aspen is dead, we killed him yesterday.” She stares in disbelief. “You wanted Lexi dead, but Aspen was obsessed with her, and you didn’t notice, which led to your downfall.”

She rolls her eyes. I return a sad chuckle. This woman has no idea what I’m about to do to her for attempting to kill Jola.

“Jonah is already taking care of all your finances and stuff; no one will miss you. Evidence will show that you traveled to a country in South America to meet a man and the trace ends there, but you will most certainly be in prison in another country in South America, far away from the country you traveled to.” She starts to shake the handcuff, making attempt to break it. I laugh, resting my elbow on my knees. “Not to worry, I paid them to keep you on the list of cruel people that will attempt to escape. In other words, you will never escape, and you in particular are guaranteed a special shitty treatment.”

“Please, call my son, I will go away quietly,” she starts to ramble.

“Yes, you will go away quietly to the prison of my choice. Where you will be till you die.”

She stops trying to escape and starts crying like I will ever be moved by her tears.

“Please, let me leave on my own accord. I will go far away.”

“Ship sailed years ago. Eni left because you made life unbearable for her. She had miscarriages because of you. She lived far away from you, yet, years later, you still went after her daughter, my wife.” I sigh. “You shouldn’t have gone after my wife,” I shout and see the tears rolling down her face. “Anyone who harms my wife will earn my eternal wrath.”

The fear of almost losing her yesterday surges through me, making my heart race as I shout my unforgiving condemnation to this woman. I push the button on my phone, and a soft click echoes in the room. One of my guys walks in. “Have her transported to Thunder, he knows what to do from there. Keep me posted once the transfer is completed.” I nod to her as tears roll down her face.

“Yes, boss.” He goes to uncuff her from the table. She’s still cuffed and I know she can’t escape. Her ending will be terrible.

The other two guys come in, cover her face and she leaves with them.

I watch the van leave with four guys. Once she’s handed to Thunder, he will keep an eye on her. He’s the one deciding which prison she ends up in.

I head to my office, and I’m surprised to find Jonah waiting with Grayson. I thought he left.

“Hey,” I say as he rises and follows me into my office.

“Where is she?” he asks.

“At home, you can call her. Malik is no longer monitoring.”

“Okay. Is she okay?” He’s concerned.

“Physically, yes, but I don’t know if nightmares will come later. She slept fine yesterday, so I’m hopeful it stays that way.”
