“Please, let’s keep this between us while I try to sort out how to break this to Jonah in a way that does not backfire, please,” she pleads. I remove her hands from my face and hold them tightly

“Okay. For now. I’ll wait for you to talk to Jonah. But the ring stays.” I sternly state.

She smiles.

“It’s a beautiful ring. I’m impressed you got the perfect one.”

“I had help from MAK and Ice.” I confess

She laughs.

“That sounds more like it.”

I laugh and kiss her forehead.

“Come on,” I say, standing and pulling her up. “Do you want to stay a few more days or would you like to go somewhere?” I ask. Whatever she wants is what we will do

We head back into the bedroom.

“We can stay another day, then return home. We can make plans later after I’ve spoken with Jonah,” she says.

I know her mind is already working on how to tell Jonah about us. Dad was right. If she is this worried about Jonah, I wonder what else A J Lloyd, her father, has laid out for me.

“Where’s Ice? I bet he had a good laugh watching me make a fool of myself.”

“No, he didn’t. He was worried about you. I think he only allowed it because he trusted I wouldn’t hurt you.”

“Good, because I was planning on firing him.”

I laugh.

“You can’t fire him, Sprinkles.” I state

“Dang, I thought I had some power as Mrs. Bruce Powell.”

“I grin for the first time since she woke up. She is already addressing herself as my wife.

“You have some power, sweetheart, just not the power to fire your bodyguard. That is my job, Mrs. Powell.”

“Okay. Do I have the power to kiss you any time I want?” she flirts.

“You absolutely can kiss me any time you want, Mrs. Powell.” I wink.

“That’s my superpower, being the only woman that can kiss Bruce Powell anytime she wants,” she circles me slowly, teasing, then drops to her knees and runs her hand over me. I am already hard.

She pulls my boxers down. I look down at her.

My wife.

I gather her hair and lift her chin.

“I love you, Jolaade Powell.”

Her lips spread into a wide smile, her eyes lighting up.

“I love you too, Bruce.” her voice soft and certain

She leans in, her tongue moving slowly, deliberately. She takes her time, building the rhythm, then takes me fully.
