“Kinsey?”
I snap back to reality and, fucking hell, my clit needs to calm down.
“Yeah?”
“I was just saying, I think I’m going to watch some TV. You in?”
He rounds the island, placing a hand on my back to lead me to the couch.
“Yeah, sure, sounds great.”
We take our usual spots in the living room. Him on one end, by the end table, me on the other. He turns on the lamp and hands me the remote.
“Pick whatever you want. I’m easy.”
I take the remote and turn to him, teasing. “You’re easy, huh?”
“I wouldn’t say that.” His brows lift.
A weird feeling creeps over me, because even though Riley kisses like an actual god, anytime things turn more sexual, he locks up. So, I decide to push my luck and come up with a way to gain a little more information.
“I have an idea,” I say, shuffling to the middle cushion of the couch.
He eyes me suspiciously. “Should I be scared?”
I shake my head. “Nope. It’ll be fun.”
His body relaxes as he turns to face me. “Okay, what’s your idea?”
“Let’s play truth or dare.”
His eyebrows shoot up. “You want to play truth or dare?”
I nod quickly. “Consider it a roomies-getting-to-know-each-other activity.”
He raises his arm to the back of the couch. “Okay, but I’ll only play if we make a rule that any dares have to be tasks we won’t get arrested for.”
I twist my lips. “Well, that takes all the fun out of it.”
He chuckles. “Take it or leave it.”
I wobble my head, considering his offer. “Okay, deal. I’ll go first. Truth or dare?”
“Truth.”
I raise a fingertip to my chin, tapping while I think. “Top three favorite songs of all time.”
He answers quickly. “Come See About Me by the Supremes, Lost by Dermot Kennedy, and Closer by Kings of Leon.”
“That’s quite the range. How did The Supremes end up in the mix?”
He shrugs. “My mom loves anything Motown, and I remember me, her and Poppy listening to her favorites when we would clean on Saturday mornings. That one just sticks out for me.”
Okay, that’s freaking cute.
“I’ve never heard of Dermot Kennedy, though.”
He smiles. “I like all his music, but that’s probably my favorite of his. Guess that’ll be homework for you, Coach.”
