Are they shooting at their BOSS?!
Adriano must’ve thought so, because he ran up the stairs to the third floor and began firing down the hallway.
“VAL, GIORGIO, VINCENZO, GO RIGHT!” he screamed. “EVERYBODY ELSE, FOLLOW ME!”
The three of us raced to the third floor and went right –
And immediately had a series of gunfights in the hallway.
Camorra would fire at us, then duck into bedrooms to get away.
Val, Vincenzo, and I reached a second hallway perpendicular to ours.
Far down the perpendicular corridor, I heard automatic gunfire.
Whoever it was, they weren’t aiming at us. I couldn’t even see them.
“They might be shooting at Marcello!” I yelled.
“GO!” Valentino shouted as he and Vincenzo shot at Camorra in the main hallway.
I raced towards the distant gunshots.
At the end of the hallway, I found two Camorra around the corner.
One was firing an Uzi through a jagged hole in a wooden wall –
And the other thug was reloading his gun.
He looked up at me like a dumbass, totally surprised.
I shot him.
Before the guy with his arm in the wall could do anything, I shot him, too.
Then I raced over to the hole. On the other side was a dark stone passageway.
“Hello?!” I called out.

Secret Passageway
Ilay on top of Giulietta, my body shielding hers on the floor, as bullets whizzed just inches above us.
I was almost out of ammo. If someone came down the passageway, I had two rounds left:
One for her…
And one for me.
No matter what horrors Cesare had planned for us, he wouldn’t take us alive.
Suddenly, two gunshots rang out, a second apart –
And the automatic gunfire stopped.
