But Bram did, he knew what I needed. He walked toward me, his hard cock still in his hand. He was stroking hard and fast, his face a mask of wild hunger. “Sit on your heels, hands on your knees,” he said.

I did as he asked, and he moved closer, too close, but I was so lost to this moment, all I wanted was to see Bram come for me. Then he looked into my eyes and groaned, stroking himself hard and fast.

With a shout, he came, pumping furiously and angling his cock so he spurted across my breasts, emptying himself on me as he called my name.

It was beautiful. He was beautiful.

“Rub it in,” he said, still breathing hard, trying to catch his breath. “Do it.” He stared down at me with bright eyes.

I did. I lifted my hands to my chest and rubbed his come over my skin.

He watched me, a fierce expression on his face. “I don’t need to touch you to make you mine, Mags. Do you doubt it now?”

I shook my head. I was his, no matter what happened next.

I would always and forever belong to him.

CHAPTER 30

Magnolia

We kept our heads down as we strode through the foyer of the council building. They’d let Bram and me through without issue, which meant Maria hadn’t called to rat me out after we dropped in on her.

Though it wasn’t like they had a leg to stand on, not after the prom committee’s assistant-slash-sex toy attempted to mutilate and murder me.

It was lunchtime, and after we’d watched Isaac drive away from the building, Bram and I had made our way inside.

We strode down the hall to where the councilors’ offices were located and stopped at the end, in front of the door with Isaac’s name on it. Bram quickly picked the lock and we let ourselves in.

“You search the shelves, I’ll get his desk,” I said and started riffling through his drawers. Nothing of importance jumped out at me. I yanked open the next drawer and was hit with the scent of vervain, a common herb among witches and one that held great importance. It was used during our wedding ceremonies and was the first herb a witch planted in her own garden when she left to live with her mate. On its own it was harmless. I picked up a lone juniper berry that had rolled to the back of the drawer beside a small square of brown leather—mixed with a few different things, however…

“This anything?” Bram said.

I looked up, and he was holding a vial.

“Where was it?” I stood.

“In the box.”

There was a small decorative wooden box on the shelf. He handed it to me, and I popped the cork and took a sniff. “It’s lavender oil.” I sniffed again, and there was a bitter undertone that was easily recognizable. “And snake venom.” It was rare and expensive, so not often used, unless you were wealthy.

“What do you use if for?”

“On its own, nothing too nefarious. Add vervain, juniper berries, and a few other things, like the skull of a rodent, and a few drops of blood, put it in a leather pouch, and you have a fairly powerful enchantment charm. You can bend people to your way of thinking.” The spell was most definitely forbidden.

“You think that’s what he’s done here?”

“You can’t spell at the council chambers, but I think at some point this is where he’d stored his ingredients. I’d guarantee he’s used it on the other council members. Trotman and Asuka haven’t been themselves through this whole thing. They’d never believe Willow was capable of the things they’ve been accusing her of. Maybe even the prom committee as well.”

We quickly left, making sure everything was where we’d found it, and got the hell out of there. Trotman and Asuka weren’t in their offices, so I called and left them messages to call me back. I had to be careful how I approached this. Right now they were under Isaac’s thrall, and the longer a person was under a spell like that, the stronger it became. They might not believe me even if I told them what we found.

We walked out and got in the car. “Let’s try Trotman’s house. Maybe he’s at home.”

Bram started the car and we headed out.

That’s when it hit me, that tight grip in my gut, the feeling of wrongness.

“What is it?” Bram said, glancing at me, instantly sensing something was wrong.
