Bull made a rough sound and thrust into me again, deeper than before. He pulsed inside me, grunting and groaning in a way that was so sexy I couldn’t get enough of it.

I clung to him as his muscled body rolled into me, riding us through the last grasping, pulsing waves of pleasure. I kept my arms around him tight as we caught our breath, as Bull rolled to his side, taking me with him.

He moved to his back long enough to get rid of the condom, tossing it in the trash, then he was back and I wrapped myself around him, desperate for that full contact I loved so much—arms around his waist, legs tangled with his.

And Logan indulged me, like he always did, giving me the contact I needed, cuddling me in a way I didn’t think I would ever get enough of.

“Don’t take it away from me, baby. I got a taste of you and I’m not ready to give you up, sweets, not yet.”

The words he’d said a short time ago shot through my mind and I squeezed my eyes closed as I rested my head on his massive chest, breathing in his scent.

I didn’t think I was ready to give him up either.

And that scared the hell out of me.

Chapter Eighteen

Bull

I sipped at my beer and scanned the room. This party was not small.

When Cassy invited me to her birthday party, I expected a handful of people, a few drinks or whatever. Not half of Rocktown. Cassy was good people, which meant it hadn’t taken long for Cal’s friends to become her friends. I also saw Debra who ran the nail bar, Glory from Morning Glory, Addie from Lake’s End Café, and a handful of other women Cassy had befriended.

There were also a few ranchers and their wives or girlfriends from Springhaven. People Cassy had met after her father left town, hard-working families who worked the land themselves. Cal told me they’d formed a tight-knit group, sharing knowledge and advice and the occasional drink.

The large living room in the ranch house was getting full.

Still no Quinn, though.

My gaze slid to the door again, willing it to open and for her to walk in. It had started snowing not too long ago, I didn’t want her out in that weather, on the road in that piece-of-shit car she drove. The muscles across my shoulders and the back of my neck were tight as fuck.

I’d wanted to drive her here tonight, but she thought people might get suspicious. We wouldn’t want that now, would we?

Shit.

The voice in my head sounded suspiciously bitter. I needed to get a handle on the possessiveness, the protectiveness I felt toward Quinn, that’s all.

We’d spent every night together the last week, and an image filled my head of her sliding out of my bed this morning, like the morning before that, while it was still dark, darting around my room searching for her clothes, slipping out before the sun came up.

The first time I’d tried to pull her back in bed and had asked her to stay.

“What if someone sees me coming out of your place?”

For some reason her reply had caused me to suck in a breath. A feeling like fucking thumbtacks bouncing around the cavity of my chest had started up instantly.

Cassy smiled at someone and started toward the main door. My gaze followed her across the room, knowing exactly who it would be. The two women had become tight recently, shopping and lunching and shit, and I couldn’t say I didn’t like it.

I liked seeing her happy, seeing Quinn smile and laugh.

Yeah, I loved it.

Maybe having a friend like Cassy here would give her a reason to stay…

I slammed on the mental brakes and my fingers tightened around my drink.

Jesus. Quinn had made it clear she was going back to the city, that her time in Rocktown had an end date.

I ignored the weird feeling that thought gave me and tried to see her again.
