Her breathing was becoming shallow, and he hadn’t even touched her yet. “Show me.”

He slid his hands around her back and unclasped her bra. When he pulled it away from her skin, her nipples were pebbled and aching. He cupped her breasts in his warm hands and then bent his head down to suck a nipple deep into his mouth.

“Ohhh.”

He rolled his tongue around the tight bud and gently tugged on it with his teeth, causing her whole body to quiver with desire. Then he kissed his way over to the other breast and feasted on her some more.

He let go only to slide her panties down her legs, and she eagerly stepped out of them. Then he picked her up, sat her on the edge of the bed, and knelt before her.

“Oh God.”

“Nope. Just me,” he teased as he nudged her legs apart. The previous times they’d had sex (or made love, as she preferred to think of it), their encounters had been rather frenzied, and they hadn’t had time to fully explore each other. Today he seemed in no hurry to get to work, and since he was the boss, who was she to argue?

“Is this okay? Do you like this?”

“I like everything you do to me.”

She could tell by his expression that he appreciated her answer. Then he dipped his head between her thighs and swiped his tongue along her seam.

She fisted the covers as he explored her just as thoroughly as she’d done to him. The sight of his head between her legs and his naked body knelt before her was so erotic that soon she was rolling her hips in earnest, seeking the satisfaction that only he could provide.

When he added his hand to the mix, she shouted his name, which caused him to ramp up his movements even more. She tipped her head back and gave in to the pleasure, letting him take her to the highest peak and trusting him to bring her safely back down.

When her body finally stopped shuddering, he gently extracted himself, kissing the insides of her thighs before popping his head up. “Good morning.”

“It really was!”

He stood up, and his knees cracked.

“See, some things have changed since high school.”

She laughed. “I’m glad one thing has.”

“Me too.” He pressed his hands into the bed on either side of her legs and leaned in for a kiss. She tasted herself on his lips and didn’t mind, but she thought he might.

“Do you want a mint or something?”

He chuckled. “Maybe we should both have one.”

They redressed and went into the kitchen, where she got them two bottles of water and a handful of mints. A few minutes later, they left the house a little rumpled yet satisfied. Her body was still humming, and her brain was in a blissful fog. If only every morning could start out this way.

They drove for a while in contented silence, and every so often, she looked over at him. She felt like something had shifted between them, and she wondered if he felt it too.

“I wanted to run something by you,” he said.

“About work?”

“No. About us.”

She turned sideways to get a better look at him, but his eyes were focused on the road.

“I don’t like having to sneak around to be with you. What if we bit the bullet and told Maria?”

Her eyes went wide, and she swallowed hard. Of all the things she thought he might say, none had been that. “Um…”

“I know it sounds daunting, but maybe it won’t be as bad as we think.”

“We’re talking about your sister, right? The same girl who pounded it into all her friends that we should never get involved with you or she’d disown us.”
