“Thanks.”

“Do you want to stop for coffee?”

“Sure.”

He drove to the coffee shop he’d first taken her to, forgetting about the flirtatious cashier until they arrived. Sure enough, she was standing behind the counter, and she glanced up when they walked in. Morgan stiffened, and he gently placed his hand on the small of her back and kept it there as they approached the counter. She shot him a curious glance, but he felt her body relax while he ordered and paid. He noticed she hadn’t argued about him paying, and he was glad.

The cashier seemed to have gotten the message, and while she was friendly, she didn’t flirt with him this time.

“Poor girl. I almost felt sorry for her. Almost,” Morgan said once they were back in the car.

He chuckled. “I want you to know that while you and I, while we’re…”

“Having sex?”

“Yes. While we’re having sex, I don’t plan on seeing anyone else.”

He held his breath and waited.

“Same here.”

He exhaled. “I’m glad we’re on the same page.”

“We definitely are.”

He happily sipped his coffee after that, and so did she. They were back on solid ground, or as solid as it could be under the circumstances.

Soon they arrived at the office, and he shut off the car. Before they got out, Morgan placed a hand on his arm.

“One more thing before we go inside.”

“What is it?”

“I thought you might like to know I’m not wearing any underwear.”

Then she opened the door and stepped out, leaving him sitting there, mouth agape. She waited on the sidewalk and casually sipped her coffee until he joined her.

“How am I supposed to concentrate today?” he growled as they walked up to the front door.

She shrugged. “It was your fantasy, not mine.”

He opened the door and motioned her through. The receptionist wasn’t in yet, but a janitor was sweeping the lobby floor.

“Morning, Henry,” Gabe called as they walked past.

“Morning, Mr. Matthews.”

“Gabe,” he corrected.

The janitor smiled and nodded as the elevator doors slid open, and then Gabe and Morgan stepped inside. They stood shoulder to shoulder, and if his hands hadn’t been full, he knew where they’d be.

She smirked like she knew exactly what he was thinking.

“When we meet with Bryan later, think about what’s under this dress and know that it’s just for you.”

The elevator doors opened before he could respond, and when they stepped out, Stefan was there.

“Morning, boss. Morgan. Like the dress.”
