“Thank you, Bik, for everything,” I whisper into his chest.

“You never need to thank me for anything.” He grips my shoulders. “We haven’t caught up in a while, and that’s my fault, but I think you’ll love the reason. However, I can’t tell you about it yet. So, in the meantime, I need to know about this.” He points between Cam and Jared.

“I’m surprised Ray hasn’t told you anything,” I say, chuckling.

“Ray likes to keep his own life private. He’s not one to go around talking about anyone else’s. You know that.”

I nod. I guess I do, but I assumed he would.

“No shit,” Jay mutters. Bik’s head tilts. “Dude, I had no idea you two are…together. I don’t think anyone knows that, except her.”

Bik shrugs. “We don’t hide it, but we don’t flaunt it, either…So?” Bik nods in the direction of the guys, fishing for details.

“They’re my boyfriends,” I explain. Bik just smirks, giving me his knowing eyes. With a nod, I chuckle.

“Hey, hey. You can’t have silent conversations—” Jared starts to protest, but Bik interrupts him.

“Indy, the last couple of times I saw you with him”—he gestures at Cam—“it looked like you wanted to kill him.”

“She did,” Cam says flatly. If Bik had shown up any earlier, he would have seen it again tonight. “I killed her race and her bike. Life for a life, right?”

I chuckle. “The bike wasn’t your fault.” He looks at me pointedly. “I know I might have said it in the cemetery, but I know it wasn’t,” I say sweetly. “Plus, you helped get me a nice, shiny new one. I still don’t know what you did.” Bik and Jared both look at me in question. “I never asked him for help. You know me better than that.” They roll their eyes and nod their heads knowingly.

“Well?” Jared questions, looking at Cam.

He shrugs like it was no big deal that he helped me. “My firm represents that hotel. I told them they couldn’t fight it. They threatened me, but then I told them I’d make sure Indy got more than they owed her if they did push the case. They paid her out without any further argument.”

Jared grabs Cam by the nape of his neck and kisses him. With wide eyes and a wider smile, I turn to Bik. “See!”

As we’re talking, I decide it’s time to make a call to Kia. “I’ll be right back.” They stare, burning me with their gazes. “I gotta make a phone call.” Jared’s eyes narrow on mine. “Please,” I beg, because he knows. He knows what I am after.

“Get enough for the three of us,” he finally answers. I smile and nod.

“What is that about?” Bik asks as I walk off.

“Indy, do you think you really should?” Kia asks.

“Jared wants enough for the three of us,” I add before he can think it’s only me.

He sighs on the other end.

“Please, Kia. I know you didn’t get the full story tonight, and I’ll tell you everything. But, hey…” I pause, wanting to say something because he helped me through my panic attack. “Thank you. For earlier. You kept me grounded, even if you didn’t realize it. I was having a panic attack.”

There is silence on the other end for a second. “Indy, we will all help you. You know that. We have always been there for each other.” I nod, not that he can see it.

“Yeah,” I whisper. But I would never ask them for help. I can’t.

“I don’t need to know, unless you want to tell me. But I will always be here for you, for anything.”

I smile. “Kia, I know. Thank you.”

He sighs again, making me chuckle, and I know I’ve won. “Come get your shit.” He hangs up, leaving me laughing at a dead line.

CHAPTER 21

JARED

Cam and I pull up in front of Kia’s house for Indy’s pickup. “Where is she?” he asks, with Lainy popping out from behind the door.
