He’s mine now.

He starts to cry out, attempting to stomp out the flames, but all they do is catch the bottom of his pants on fire, and I use his fear to fuel my rage. I feel it deep in my bones, making itself home.

“Ahhhhh!! Someone please help me!” he shouts and I smile wide.

“Hmmm…” I taunt, walking around the flame.

In the blink of an eye, I slowly walk through the fire to get to him, showing him all my power.

“Oh, God…” he murmurs, falling to his knees in front of me, ready to beg for his pathetic fucking life.

“God isn’t going to save you now…” I taunt, loving his frightened composure

and the sweat dripping off his pores. I can see it all, including the thoughts of what he was going to do to that woman. It chills me. Fucking monster! He screams bloody murder again, terrified with what he’s seeing. With a wave of my hand, I silence him. He lips press together and although he tries to scream, it’s muffled.

“You scared?” I mock.

He nods, holding his hands out in front of him and he begins to pray. His bottom lip whimpers.

“The irony…” I ridicule, standing in front of him.

He’s right there, bowing at my feet.

Cocking my head to the side, I shift some of the fire onto his flesh and watch as

the skin melts from his bones.

I enjoy the sight of his agony, adding more fire onto him. Not enough to kill…yet. But enough to burn.

Little by little, I strip him of his dignity until he’s left with just the flesh of his face. I make him stand, and he’s almost passed out, but I don’t let him. Holding his eyes open, I think of shards of glass and immediately, a window somewhere cracks and shatters and small pieces fly to where I need them to be. They pry his eyes to stay wide.

He’s all muscle, I can see his insides and then, I use my nail that is now a knife to scrape away the dead flesh and slice across his intestines. They rip open, puss and blood spewing out of him.

My rage hasn’t waned, but there’s not much of him left.

Finishing the job, I rip a large ‘X’ across his body and different parts fall to the ground.

He’s dead now, and I resist the urge to make him come back to life to do it all over again. Can I do that? I wonder. If only I imagined him—

Instead, I hear Lucifer inform me, “Enough of that now.”

Chapter Fifteen

Lucifer

* * *

Her head tilts, consumed by her new dead toy. A run of the mill jack-off who is insignificant by all accounts.

With his body lying on the cobblestone, face down, I turn my attention to the object of my desire.

Lilith.

“Is my little whore satisfied?”

“What do you mean?” she questions in a careful tone. Her emotions are evident. She’s loving this.

“Does this”—I gesture to the dead, limp fuck—“entertain you more than I do?”
