“I promise to tell you.” It’s the foundation of any BDSM scene, trusting that you can stop at any time and feeling safe enough to do that if needed. My heart clenches at her need for reassurance, knowing that she must’ve had partners that didn’t communicate properly. That made her think there was something wrong with her.
“I can’t… I won’t ruin this because I’m being selfish or you think you have to play along and secretly hate it.”
Her words wrap around my throat and squeeze, the emotion so familiar it chokes me. I’ve had that same fear for decades. It’s why I rarely shift, and never around a partner.
“I’ll tell you.” She nods, and I give her hand a squeeze. “Promise you’ll do the same?”
“Of course.”
I smile. “Perfect. Then there’s nothing left to be worried about. My wolf is going to get growly and possessive as hell, but I think we’ll both enjoy it.”
“Mmm, I know I will. I can’t wait for you to fuck me after you’ve had to watch.”
Arousal pulses in the air between us.
“Me either.”
We listen to the radio for most of the drive, Samantha singing along to the songs making me smile. She’s not great at keeping on pitch, but I still love listening to her because it means she’s relaxed and not trying to put up any sort of facade. She’s comfortable being imperfect around me.
Once we’re inside the club, the tension from earlier creeps back into her posture, her shoulders tight and her mask of confident indifference firmly back in place.
Resting a hand on her back, I lean in. “See any good candidates?”
The main room of the dark club is pretty packed since it’s the weekend, but her brow furrows as she scans the crowd.
“Well…” She turns and gives me a sheepish smile. “Those two over in the corner, the one with the blue hair and the girl with the cat ears, they’re very sweet and fun, but I’m not really in the mood for being in a scene with a brat.”
I nod. “What are you in the mood for, Pearl?”
She chuckles, some of the nerves fading from her face. “You remembered my kink name.”
“What kind of good submissive would I be if I didn’t?”
“A bad one.” Her smile grows sharp, and she strokes my cheek. “But we both know you’re a very good boy, Wolf.”
My dick perks up at her touch and praise, eager for more.
She looks back at the crowd, gaze landing on a cluster of young men chatting and laughing at a table by the dance floor. “Hmm, they could be good.”
They look like a bunch of frat bros, but if that’s what she’s interested in, I’ll go with it.
“No… I need something more…” Her eyes light up. “Ah. Perfect.”
She takes me by the hand and tugs me after her, and the crowd parts around us as if they can sense her commanding energy and know to get out of the way instinctively. We weave into a dark corner of the space I hadn’t noticed, and I have to fight back a surprised sound when I see someone familiar.
“Well, I’ll be damned. Wolf, good to see you, man.” Declan extends a hand to me as Samantha grins with devilish delight.
“Likewise.” I shake his hand and chuckle, nodding at the two other men gathered at the booth with him.
“Who’s your gorgeous companion?” Declan asks, giving Samantha a respectful, appreciative once-over.
She pouts playfully. “You don’t recognize me? Because as soon as I saw you, I remembered you, Daddy.”
Declan does a double take, his eyes going comically wide. “Princess? No fucking way.”
Samantha curtsies and laughs when Declan shakes his head in disbelief. “I thought we weren’t allowed to get contact information that night, or I sure as hell would’ve asked for it. Damn, didn’t take you for a rule breaker, Wolf.”
“He’s not,” Samantha says, placing a possessive hand on my chest. “He’s too good a boy to do that, but luckily we ran into each other outside of here.”
