Lightning fast, Nathan’s hand tangles in my hair, the slight bite of pain making my body sizzle with desire as he tugs my mouth to his dick. I try to lap at the head to tease him, but he’s having none of that. As soon as I open my mouth, he’s pushing me down on him, and fuck, I love it.
The heady rush of making this stern, controlled man’s composure break is as good as any orgasm. Though I wouldn’t say no to one of those either.
He fucks my face with a feral abandon, and I grip his thighs to keep myself steady, as the filthy wet sounds fill the room. I gasp for air when he lets me up so he can unmute and speak, and his look of warning to be quiet only makes me more worked up.
“This is what you wanted,” he grunts. “You couldn’t let me be decent for one damn day. You had to show me how depraved I am, having my brand new assistant suck me off in the middle of a meeting.”
I can’t reply, my mouth and throat still full of his cock, but I moan my assent, my hand snaking between my thighs to rub my clit.
“Fuck. Gonna come.” There’s a prick on my scalp as his nails sharpen, his wolf showing itself a touch as he loses control.
He doesn’t need to guide me to take him all the way down, I’m so eager for it. I come a second before him, and when I moan around his dick, that’s all it takes for him to unload down my throat with an almost pained groan.
When I come up for air with a sputtering sigh and meet his eyes, Nathan looks wrecked. He’s panting and sweating, and barely says goodbye as he ends the call.
He hauls me out from under the desk, eyes wild. “You’re going to be the death of me.”
I chuckle and shake my head at him, noting how despite his disheveled appearance, his pallor is much better, and he looks less depleted. “No. I’m going to show you how to live again.”

I’m going to show you how to live again.
Samantha’s words after she gave me the most mind-blowing head of my life echo in my mind on repeat. It was a quip, but still apt because I haven’t felt this alive and focused at work in literal decades.
When she comes in at 5pm to tell me that my last meeting of the day was rescheduled, and gives me a debrief on all the things she accomplished, it’s hard not to stare at her, mouth agape.
“You didn’t have to get all of that done in one day,” I say, stunned when I open my email to see that she’s beaten the anxiety-provoking mess into submission.
“I told you I’m good at my job.” She grins when my mind immediately goes to how fucking good she was under my desk, too. “But if you ever have feedback about how I handle things, I’m open to it.”
The way she mentions feedback sounds flippant, but there’s a flicker behind her cocky smile. Something that hints her bravado may be a mask, and I’ll need to tread carefully if I do actually have constructive criticism. While I may have earned a reputation for being tough and not particularly caring at work over the years—mostly to stave off my father’s accusations of being too emotional—I don’t want to do anything to upset Samantha. Not only because she’s my best friend’s daughter and even if we have a falling out, we’ll still be in each other’s lives, but because it’s clear after only one day that she’s a godssend.
“Noted.”
We go through a quick list of questions she has for me, some of which I’m unsure of the relevance, but she jots down my answers like they’re crucial to her work. When she’s done, we sit there in silence for a moment, and I have the oddest urge to ask her the same questions in return, just to know more about her. To find an excuse to keep talking to her rather than go home to my empty loft and overanalyze every moment of the day.
“Anything else you need before I head out?” Her tongue darts out to wet her lips, and I can’t tell if she’s being suggestive or not.
There’s a laundry list of things I want to do with her. Wrap her legs around my face and eat her out like I did at The Vault. Hike up her skirt and fuck her hard and fast over the desk. Use my tie to bind her hands together and…
I hear movement in the hall outside my office door and shove the thoughts away.
My voice is thick when I reply. “Not today.”
Clearing my throat, I stand and she follows suit, a hint of an amused smile spreading across her lips. “I’ll walk you out to your car.”
The smile on her face falls. “Oh, you don’t have to do that.”
“You parked in the garage across the street, right?”
She nods.
I think about how some of the lights are burned out and the horror stories I’ve heard about women being assaulted while alone in the city. It’s still light outside, but my wolf bristles with the need to keep her safe from any potential threats.
“Then yes, I definitely do.” Samantha opens her mouth to argue, but a small growl builds in my throat. “Don’t argue with me about this. I’m walking you to your damn car.”
She rolls her eyes at me. “Fine. But for the record, I’ve been walking around this city on my own for over twenty years. I can handle myself.”
