“No, for your timing, sweetie,” Jack explained. “Comedic gold.”
“Can I get a comedic translation?”
“Okay, first off, you’re the top, that’s the joke.”
“I am your shirt?” Dimitri cocked his head in utterly adorable confusion.
Jack could live in this moment forever, which might’ve contributed to his delayed response.
“No, you’re the top.” Jack thrusted his hips, simulating sex. “Get it? When I ask if folks like my top, I’m asking if they like you.”
“Why wouldn’t they like me?” Dimitri asked, almost feigning offense.
“I can’t believe that’s your takeaway.” Jack chuckled. “It’s just a really good joke, is all. And you hit the nail on the head. Also, the added benefit of those being your first-ever words in any of our videos. Oh, this is going to blow up.”
“You realize I am not a top,” Dimitri said, standing to his feet and setting his book aside.
“Well, they don’t need all the details of our relationship.”
“You just gave them all the details. Inaccurate details, but all of them nonetheless.”
“Not inaccurate,” Jack countered. “You haven’t exactly shown me your versatile side.”
“Oh?” Dimitri’s expression shifted to something soft and coy. “You wish to be my top? Do you think your audience will like my top as much as they like your top?”
“Who doesn’t like watching a short king bend over a big, thick daddy?”
“No one better be watching, mister.” Dimitri jabbed Jack in the chest with his nails, then eyed the phone in Jack’s hand.
“I don’t make that kind of content,” Jack said with a smile. “Now, can we return to the important part of the discussion?”
“Which is?”
“Which is me cracking that big ole Deer Daddy.” Jack made the most ridiculous expression, even conjuring a shadowy tongue to demonstrate his fiendish arousal.
“Keep it up, the only thing that will crack will be your pumpkin head.”
“All right, all right, I’m done.” Jack wiggled his eyebrows. “Time to turn on the charm. Prepare to be swooned, my love. I’m going to romance you so hard. And then I’m going to do something else so, so hard.”
“You are an absolute dork.”
“The most absolute dork that ever dorked,” Jack said with a grin. “And you love it.”
“I do. And I love you, even if your humor is nauseating at times.”
“Only at times, huh? I’ll take the win.”
“If you wish to bother me during my reading, you better make it worth my time.”
“Is that a challenge?” Jack tsked.
“Depends.” Dimitri smoldered, his glowing green eyes holding this delightful cockiness to them. “Can you meet it?”
“I most certainly can.” Jack shoved Dimitri back, knocking him through his shadows before he had a chance to react.
Jack stepped through as well, and the two of them stood alone in Jack’s room. Well, Jack’s room in technicalities only. Technically, Dimitri had his own room, although he never used it. Technically, Jack hadn’t asked to officially move into the same room together, although Dimitri spent every night in Jack’s bed. Their bed at this point.
“You little jerk.” Dimitri grinned.
